The Draft Lottery was held this evening, the results will be posted over the next two weeks! Alex English was remotely connected to my PC to see the draft lottery unfold. Once all the results have been posted I will put the video on YouTube.

I took calculated risk, but you wouldn't be saying that if Ian said "and the first pick belongs to....The Sacramento Kings." Besides, those picks will be late and maybe I slightly overpaid for them but it's not that bad. Besides, there is a player I REALLY like at #14.

You trade away 3 firsts, to try and get a top 3 lotto, AND YOU DON'T SIGN DAN GILBERT'S SON AS YOUR LUCKY CHARM? I'm ok with going big or going home, but you shoulda signed Gilbert.

Quit being dicks guys. One time I "felt like I needed a pure SG" and traded Russell Westbrook for OJ Mayo back at the old D5. Think about how stupid that was. I also gave away Brian Scalabrine in the same trade and he's now the GM of the Pelicans. dynastyfive.proboards.com/thread/5445

That trade was not bad. Some people expected Mayo to be a future star back then.

I agree with 100% Chuck, not signing Dan Gibert's son was a HUGE mistake! Otherwise, Adam can shut the fuck up because trading Teague for Jru Holiday constitutes a dumber move than my trade. Seriously, I think I will get the best player in the draft at #14.

I said in the mocks that were done, I have 15-16 players in my 1st tier, as I think 15 or so players can become All-Stars in this draft, given they develop on the course that I think they can. And it isn't huge crazy developmental paths either. I also don't see KAT or Okafor as "Franchise Changing" Bigs in D5 at least.

Lol, you guys and your not believing in the Hassan Whitesides. It's a shame Ratings are based on the votes of you. 2k has him rated an 81, you know in line with his production.

Lol, you guys and your not believing in the Hassan Whitesides. It's a shame Ratings are based on the votes of you. 2k has him rated an 81, you know in line with his production. Then go play NBA 2k? I hate when people refer to those ratings when making their argument in the Stock Watch. To start with, none of our ratings intentionally match the 2k ratings, so why should any 1 player's rating match theirs? If we all fell in line with those ratings, on every player, that is one thing. But because our ratings don't match theirs from the top down, we can't justifiable match up one player with theirs. I understand that you probably aren't saying that Whiteside's should match it, I am just stating some facts about 2k ratings and our ratings. Secondly, our attribute system is WAY WAY WAY less sophisticated than 2k's. The game we play in, is 9 years older. Walt and I have long discussions on how RL stats should match up in our attribute system, and it is an exercise in futility. We are often left shaking our heads and wishing we could do X and could change Y, and how to interpret Z and put it into the attributes. It truly sucks, because we are left wishing and wanting to do more, for the betterment of the league. Newer sports simulation video games update their ratings more often than we do. Walt and I aren't constantly changing every player's rating weekly or monthly, or even yearly. (I also wish we had a "form" rating, kind of like how FIFA gives a boost to players ratings when they are in top form. I wish our game had some sort of "heating up" system for our streakier players, how cool would that be? If we could have a "streaky" rating? Jamal Crawford gets in the zone in a game and drops 40 points, you know?) We change the ratings as often as the league wants in most cases. I know I wish I could just sit around and get paid to interpret the stats of every player weekly and adjust our ratings accordingly, that would be awesome. But our league is democratic, very democratic. Everyone has equal input in our ratings. Do voters tend to gravitate to some GM's opinions? Yeah, probably. But that's how society works. Some people have very contagious opinions. Our league also lets us voice our opinions on trades. I think having us all vote, all count equally, makes for better ratings. We aren't making rating changes for millions and millions of people who play the game. We are making ratings for 30 people. It's almost like politics. Some people are very conservative, and won't vote extremely, or "wants to see more from the player". While others are liberal, and throw high or low votes around a lot. Some only vote on the important players, like how some people only vote in the presidential elections. A few of us on each player make solid arguments and really believe in their opinion, and "fight" for it and others just give a number and no explanation. It is all cool. It all makes our ratings more personal, more customizable. Is a guy you love up for a decrease, but you believe he's just in a small slump? You fight for that shit. You make arguments. You don't like a guy, think his game is terrible, and is just in a good system? You make it known, you show stats, bring up advanced stats. If we only used NBA 2K ratings, no one's voice would be heard, for better or for worse. /end rant

In other sim leagues he is rated similarly to 2k rating. This is the only league where everyone seems to think I'm retarded about whiteside And I think some of the bias is against the GM and not the player. I don't even bring him up except for funny shit, but I keep getting made fun of and have to defend myself. This wasn't supposed to be a whiteside thread.

My biggest issue with the Celtics-Kings trade is that I believe Kings could be a top contender for the title if they wanted to. Sure, Kings wasn't in the best position back then but Gasol only got his rating boost 1 month before the trade and Lillard and Westbrook were about to get better as well.

You should rename your team the lebrons jamesies Coz his coming home. Sorry to burst your bubble but Lebron is not "coming home" in d5. Lebron went to a team with 3 first round picks in Irving Wiggins and Bennet as well as high picks in Waiters and Thompson and old friend Varejao and then the promise of using their assets to get Kevin Love. Lebron is not leaving Miami to go to a team that has Gerald Green as the second best player.
