Guys, we are 2 months away from March Madness, the time where all the great prospects blossom. And, to you rebuilding teams, hope is 6 months away in the form of the draft, and the lottery before that; is anyone feeling as lucky as I was last year?
Anyways, lets talk some prospects. If I remember correctly, I introduced you all to Elfrid Payton, long before anyone on ESPN really talked about him being the best PG prospect in the draft. This years group looks almost as good, or even better, than last years. Loaded with big men, the top 15 is flush with potential All-Star players.
My favorite is Willy Caulie-Stein, he reminds me a lot of Demarcus Cousins in the way that he can handle the ball and pass well, the difference is that he will be much more polished coming out since he stayed in college longer. There's lots more.
Let's talk the 2015 NBA Draft Prospects.

This draft is packed with post players.
Jahlil Okafor Karl Towns Willie Cauley-Stein Kristaps Porzingis Kevin Looney Myles Turner Robert Upshaw Frank Kaminsky Montrezl Harrell Cliff Alexander Christian Wood Bobby Portis Dakari Johnson Kennedy Meeks Trey Lyles
That's 15 players who potentially could go in the 1st round if they all declared for the draft. Half the first could be power forwards or centers.

Yeah, but there's 3 really good wings, the guy from Spain, Stanley Johnson, and DeAngelo Russell.
Also, there's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Semms like everyone is sleeping on Arizona. I think, right now, I'd pick Zona UK as the championship game. I also think UK goes undefeated. Most of the wings and guards who will be drafted will be from UK.
UK could seriously have 7 first round draft picks, maybe more.

What about Mudiay. He pro already.

What about Mudiay. He pro already. He's sucking in China, which isn't the Euro League, he failed out of college, his career is on a collison course. But he has all the talents and tools for a team to bust on him in the high lotto.

Do we really know he's sucking in China? His PPG is like 18. How did he fail out of college? He's like 18.

Mudiay never failed out of college. He didn't attend SMU at all. Apparently he chose to go pro instead to make money for his poor family: www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2014/07/14/emmanuel-mudiay-smu-decides-to-turn-pro-overseas/12634877/But for reference at 17.7ppg he's only the 6th leading scorer on his own team. Guangdong Tigers: Jamaal Franklin: 28.5ppg, 6.2rpg, 4.6apg Yi Jianlian: 26.9ppg, 9.7rpg, 1.3apg Will Bynum: 22.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 6.6apg Elijah Holman: 21.4ppg, 14.1rpg, 1.4apg FangYu Zhu: 18.9ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.9apg Emmanuel Mudiay: 17.7ppg, 6.0rpg, 5.9apg This Chinese league looks completely nuts. Nobody plays defense over there. Look at some of these stats: basketball.asia-basket.com/Stats/China/CBA/1Willie Warren is averaging 38ppg, Al Harrington is putting up 32 and 11, Andray Blatche is putting up 30 and 15. In total there are 11 guys averaging more than 30ppg. Mudiay's stats alone look really good, but maybe not considering the Chinese league is out of control.

Do we really know he's sucking in China? His PPG is like 18. How did he fail out of college? He's like 18. He didn't have the grades to get into SMU, and in China he sprained an ankle and is likely to not risk his draft stock any further and go the Exum route. He is the best PG in the draft though.

Not having the grades and failing out is two different things. He knows what he wants to do, no sense in faking it by going to college to learn how to play shitty basketball.

They really aren't two different things because one just leads to the other.

D'Angelo Russell is like a "chunkier" Reggie Miller. I wonder if his game will translate to the NBA though.

D'Angelo Russell is like a "chunkier" Reggie Miller. I wonder if his game will translate to the NBA though. Ford has him at 17 I think, I like his game. He showed us he can pass as well. I just wonder that with all these great PGs, who needs a ball dominant 2, or maybe he just runs the offense because he is the best player for the Buckeyes, either way, I like the kid.

Speaking of Chad Ford, you guys see the Reddit thing that shows he edits his draft ranking years later to make himself look better?

It's pretty funny. Here is side by side comparison of the 2013 draft with the archived version at the time of the draft and the current updates. Like Giannis moving up from 17 to 9? Get out of here Chad Ford, no one on earth had Giannis as a top 10 prospect that year.

Speaking of Chad Ford, you guys see the Reddit thing that shows he edits his draft ranking years later to make himself look better? Yeah it is pretty sad, in a business like that, you're gonna be wrong, and you need to admit it. Not move things around to make you look right. But maybe ESPN does it to make him look better to draw more insider subs. There's a lot of things ESPN does that I don't like, I think they are a cross of TMZ and Fox News for the sporting world. The problem is is that their market is soooooo big, no competitor could survive even if they could manage the insane start up costs.

It sucks there's so many good big-men in this draft after I just picked up Joel Embiid and already have Enes Kanter

^ I think the IRL sixers feel the same way. Wonder if they will pick Okafor if they get #1 overall

^ I think the IRL sixers feel the same way. Wonder if they will pick Okafor if they get #1 overall They can copy Phoenix Suns, but instead of PGs, they do it on Cs. ^^ But IMHO, any combo of Noel-Embiid-Okafor will be awesome on both ends of the court next season and should be dominating already in a few years.

Not sure why the Kings would draft Cauley-Stein

Not sure why the Kings would draft Cauley-Stein None of the picks really make sense, it just seems like his big board. I don't see why the 76ers would take Russell, a ball dominant combo guard when they have MCW. I think at some point, you just take the best available player in your own opinion and deal with where they play later. The draft is littered with big men and I am surprised to see Ford thinking the foreigners will slip, unless he knows something about their European deals.

You know what? I wish I could just be browsing through scouting videos and see a player in this year's rookie crop look like this for once: I can't imagine being blown away like that

Watching UCLA vs Arizona. Stanley Johnson is playing so badly, currently 0-7 and seemingly unable to take contact. I know he's not usually this shit, but damn, lol.
Kevon Looney is like a quicker Lamar Odom, pretty solid.

ESPN has an interesting article up called "Who is this years Shabazz?"
In reference to Napier putting the huskies on his back and winning the NCAA championship. Who do you think is this years Shabazz, or do you think Kentucky walks away with it? D'Angelo Russell?

Who do you think is this years Shabazz, or do you think Kentucky walks away with it? D'Angelo Russell? I think the closest thing to this year's Shabazz could be Russell. He is a do it all guard but I don't think the rest of the team is as good as what UConn's was. But I think Russell is better than Napier. I also think Kentucky runs it and finishes undefeated. They are 10 deep and are all McDonalds' All-Americans, or close to it. Willie Cauley Stein can literally guard the perimeter guys and then recover quick enough to get a block from behind in the paint, he's pretty athletic.
