Is Kevin Garnett, Mo Williams, et al removed? I hadn't noticed Mo Williams retired, thanks! KG was gone though. I've added Mo to the 2016 Retirees thread.

I'd leave Bosh one more season just in case.

Also Ian you can put Brendan Haywood on this list. I plan on cutting him at the end of the season.

Maybe we need amnesty here or some rule for cases like this? The problem with this is that Bosh is willing to risk his life for another season, and if a team could find a proper insurance policy for him, which will be damn near impossible, he would be on a team.

Bosh is technically still on a roster though.

Chris Bosh will leave the Sixers on June 30th (day before OSFA starts) and his salary will not stay on their books.

Are GMs allowed to sign him this offseason? I am very confident Bosh will be back with a team next season I think we should wait until he actually does come back and play a few games first. but then the cap is most likely spent and we will have a big time player on an MLE deal, most likley, as he won't want to go to a tanking team. He wanted to play basketball again before Miami told him they can't clear him for basketball activities. If it were up to Bosh, he would play. And I think at some point a team will allow him to play, and I expect him to be signed this off-season, so long as there isn't some wonky contract agreement where he forfeits the money he is to be paid from Miami if he signs elsewhere. I think he should be on the 76ers, and at the least, a team should be allowed to risk it for the biscuit, even if that means him not playing. The likely scenario is he signs a one year deal, either plays or doesn't play, and nothing is gained or lost really. To bar teams from trying to sign him this off-season would suck, being that GM's may prefer to sign him versus another big man with less skill, for likley the same amount of cheddar.

May need to add Ty Lawson and DMo to the list

May need to add Ty Lawson and DMo to the list I don't know if playing overseas = retired. To me, retired seems like a thing old players do when they are completely done playing or could never make it in the NBA anymore. Ty Lawson is 29 and played 25 mpg last season. I think him going to China indicates that he wants a bigger role, more money, etc. but not that he is necessarily done with the NBA forever.

Whenever a player has not played in the NBA for a few seasons though it has always seemed logical to remove them. I suppose we can wait a year or more in this instance since Lawson did play all those minutes.

We ALWAYS have allowed players to remain in the league when they go play overseas. At least a season if not two. Many come back. I mean if you want the extra work, do what you want.
