Ian Noble: any ideas fire them over to me. Can't believe I didn't think about playoff boxscores. Nov 28, 2015 17:35:43 GMT
Sam Bowie: some. Not Python though. Nov 28, 2015 17:19:51 GMT
Ian Noble: you do any coding? Nov 28, 2015 17:14:05 GMT

Ian Noble: finally we'll get Playoff boxscores... such a good idea Bowie Nov 28, 2015 17:08:40 GMT
Ian Noble: I love this programming stuff, it opens up so many possibilities Nov 28, 2015 17:08:23 GMT
Ian Noble: yep, that's what I'm thinking Nov 28, 2015 16:55:26 GMT
Sam Bowie: you should be able to do it all with Python. a) look up for team id in line x of old database and if the team id matches the id of a playoff team compare line x of old db with line x of new db and move to the corresponding box scores. At the end, sum total Nov 28, 2015 16:54:24 GMT *
Ian Noble: good call!! Nov 28, 2015 16:29:51 GMT
Ian Noble: omg good point Mr Bowie! Nov 28, 2015 16:29:13 GMT
Sam Bowie: yeah. Excel would do the trick. You could also use it to get playoff box scores by comparing the old and the new database. Nov 28, 2015 16:15:00 GMT
Ian Noble: dbf files open in Excel, and I use OpenOffice Nov 28, 2015 15:51:18 GMT
Ian Noble: although to extract all that information automatically I'm using a Python programming module just called 'dbf' Nov 28, 2015 15:51:12 GMT
