How easy is it to be an elite defender when you can literally body check people and not get called for a foul? Ref just shrugs. I really hope the NBA doesn't give the Warriors bullshit favoritism to help them get the record, somehow I think they will though, it's too good of a story, and too much hype for the playoffs. Of all the professional sports leagues, excluding FIFA, I think the NBA would be most likely to "fix" something like this. The lottery system just reeks of corruption. And considering the games right now really don't matter, I think the NBA would do something like this. Also, when you're playing at home, the refs give you calls, or don't call things, especially when you're a winning team with a huge fan base. A ref doesn't want to be boo'd if he misses a call. Also I am hugely skeptical of all the refs since the Mob Ref. James Harden -- Champion of the regular season! James Harden - shit in the playoff! Let's see how shitty James Harden was in the playoffs last year. In 17 games played his stats were: 27.2 ppg, 7.5 apg, 5.7 rpg, 1.6 spg, 0.4 bpg, 43.9 FG%, 38.3 3P%, 91.6 FT%, 24.8 PER Hmm, those stats aren't very shitty. This can't be right. There must be some reason those stats don't actually count. This is Harden we're talking about, we already know he sucks balls, justifying that conclusion is secondary. I can't figure it out, but I'm sure @riogho will tell me. |

Yea... that's the only way he knows to play defense. Super sample size bias to illustrate your point! For what it's worth, I hate seeing bad calls and favoritism, just saying, he IS a great defender. That play was crazy though I'm not really making a serious argument against Draymond, the post is about the shitty calls. He is a great defender, but as guys like Keving Garnett and Bruce Bowen have shown, you can be a great defender and be dirty. Draymond does have a bit of a reputation for being a dirty player. |

Didn't he have 14 points and 12 turnovers in the elimination game? Clutch. Yes he did. It's very fitting for you to single out this game though. It's exactly what my point is. How did he do against GSW? Fantastic! With the exception of that game of course. In the previous one he had 45 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. For the whole series he averaged, let's see... 28.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 6.4 apg, 2.4 spg, 0.4 spg, 46.7 FG%, 42.9 3P%, 86.8 FT% None of that really exists to you though, just the one game you picked out to confirm your bias against him. That one game is the true representation of James Harden, the other 16 are all just outliers. |

My point is that I'm tired of the anti-James Harden circlejerk. You said he's shit in the playoffs. That's demonstrably not true. He's easily worth a 92, even with below average defense. I don't care if people don't like him as a player, I care that people want to nerf his overall rating because of a personal dislike for his game. A personal dislike that can't really be defended in any objective way when looking at the complete picture of his year in and year out performance. Anyways, I've derailed this thread enough. I think the only reason Durant isn't a 99 for me is because he gets 4-6 points a game from that bullshit sweep through jump shot and faking then diving into people. Thats not basketball. Neither is flailing your arms like a bitch which is why people dislike Harden. This is a Draymond Green post anyways. |
