surprises no threads have been made for double D
Dude is on beast mode in Toronto this year, 1 of the main reasons the raps are in the playoffs. Also he made the All Star team for the 1st year in his young career.
Current Rating: 79 New Rating: 86

He's been great, but he's still not a very efficient shooter. I put Joe Johnson at 84 and I'd rather have DeRozan so I'll say 85.

Pro's: Increased his rebounding a bit most years, although his mpg have been going up. Still, he's at about 4.5 boards, I like that from a guard.
More impressed by his assists jumping up to 4. That is good for a G/F no doubt.
1.1 Steals is good.
22.8 Points, yea that's nice but I'm honestly not that impressed, will get into it.
The part of his "points" total that IS good, his FT%. 82.4% on 8 attempts per game, very nice!
Cons: 30.1% from 3, pretty poor considering he takes almost 3 a game.
42.8% from the field in general, fairly inefficient. He's dropped about 2% this year compared to last year, while increasing his shot attempts by 3/game, so it does make sense it would get worse. But, that's an overall negative to me. I'm not impressed by guys who score a lot on bad %'s
Those 86's are too high IMO.
I'll go 83

dear god...... OK, give him a high dunk and athleticism, but he can't shoot all that well, keep those low! He definitely deserves an increase but not 7 points IMO.

I wish I owned a high-volume poor shooting player right now. This league is blinded by points! How they get them, be damned!

Based on other's arguments and other players ratings, I reduce my rating from an 85 to an 84.

Even after comparing numbers of two completely different players with completely different roles, I'm going to have to rate Derozan at an 84.
It's impressive what Demar has been able to do after taking the reigns from Rudy and making the team better; even if the East blows.

82 for Derozan.
The Raps have been so inspirational since Rudy Gay left (and unfortunately Quincy Acy). Derozan is a legit all star. Toronto have obviously jettisoned their overpaid filler and improved, which means the team has begun to succeed due to teamwork and what is probably a better team ethos instilled by Masai (sort of an opposite Dolan-effect), so I don't think it's entirely down to Derozan, who you'd think it is because of his uber stats.
82.

the stats of Paul George and Demar is comparable. Derozan MIN FGM-A FG% 3PM-A 3P% FTM-A FT% OR DR REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS 38.2 7.6-17.8 .429 0.8-2.7 .305 6.6-8.0 .824 0.7 3.7 4.3 4.0 0.4 1.1 2.5 2.2 22.7

if George is an 88, Derozan should at least be an 87

Come on guys, he hasn't even gotten his previous rating increase yet. I voted an 83 last time but I think 84 (What he was voted to) is probably more in line with his actual performance. He's really bogged down by his lack of 3pt shooting.

Come on guys, he hasn't even gotten his previous rating increase yet. I voted an 83 last time but I think 84 (What he was voted to) is probably more in line with his actual performance. He's really bogged down by his lack of 3pt shooting. So he shoots the 3 at a 30% clip, everything else he does is elite. 22.7 PPG, 42.9% FG wise on 18 shots a game isn't bad, he is a high volume shooter who is doing very well. He isn't Kawhi, he has to carry his team. He got to the line 8 times a game, 630 total on the season, which was 6th best in the league. The only guard above him is mister flop himself, James Harden at 665. DeMar also made the 4th most FT's in the league. 10th in the league in FGM, the guards above him are Steph, Melo (he's a wing), LeBron, and KD. For comparison, Demar made 604 FG's, Steph made 652. Demar was also 8th in the league in total points scored. The guards before him? Harden, Curry, Bron, Melo, Druant. DeMar scored 1791 total points, Harden scored 1851 and Curry 1873. I mean, the downfalls of DeMar's game are his 3PT shooting percentage, but it isn't like he is just jacking three's all day, he attempted 2.7 a game. He also had 4 assists, which isn't anything spectacular, but it is expected from an all-star caliber guard, 4.3 boards and 1.1 steals a game. He did have 2.2 turnovers though. Advanced wise, his TS% was 53.2, eFG% 45.2 and FTr 44.8. Also had 8.8 win shares and 0.141 per 48. Comparing him to Paul George, DeMar and him had near equal FG%, PG came in at 42.4% and attempted 1 shot less. PG had a 36.4 3PT%, got to the line a mere 5.8 times per game, but did get 2.8 rebounds more the DeMar (6.8 TRB for PG), he had 3.5 assits, 1.9 steals and 2.8 turnovers and 21.7 PPG. PG had 10.8 win shares and a 0.178 WS/48. However, PG ORtg was worse, coming in at 107 compared to 110 of DeRozan. Comparing DeMar to Paul George isn't fair, they are two different players that play two different positions. A better comparison for him, if we are looking at the Pacers, is Lance. But I feel the best comparison to DeRozan, is Harden. And DeMar came up just short of him in a few categories, but the difference between Harden and DeMar IS NOT 4 POINTS We need to face the facts guys, DeMar DeRozan is a top 3 SG in this league. No matter which way you want to slice things, he does what you want out of a SG. You have Westbrook at 92, Harden at 88, and Dragic and DeMar at an 84. Still not sure where to put Dragic in all of this though, he reminds me more of a Steph Curry-Kyrie Irving type PG than a SG. This is why DeMar should be an 87, comparatively he isn't any worse than Harden. But lets give Harden that stupid "He's done it for longer" point. DeMar is an elite SG, I rate him an 87. And Dragic needs an increase as well.
