Stephen Curry is currently rated 83 and I think based on his performance in IRL during the regular season and through 2 rounds in the playoffs right now his rating deserves to be increased.
He averaged 22.9 ppg | 6.9 apg | 4.0 rpg | 1.6 spg during the regular season while shooting 45%|45%|90% from the floor, 3p & FT line.
Currently averaging 25.0 ppg | 8.3 apg| 4.2 rpg | 1.8 spg during the playoffs so far while shooting 44%|42%|92% from the floor, 3p & FT line. Including a 44 & 11 game against the Spurs in game 1.
IMO (biased somewhat) Curry is the best shooter in the league and his FG & 3 point ratings should definitely reflect that. He made 272 3's this season at 45%. That is ridiculous good. Curry is also a great ball handler and passer.
IMO Curry is among the best PGs in the league right now and his rating should reflect that. I really don't want to post their stats but if you compare Curry's stats to Chris Paul & Deron Williams from this season they are very very comparable.
I think Curry deserves to be in the 88-90 range.
What does everyone else think?

Certainly his 3pt shooting should be in the high 90s, currently he's on 82-FG and 89-3PT

I agree that following this season, there should be a boost, but not quite in that range IMO. I'd be a lot more comfortable with an 85-86, maybe 87. I could see him as a 90 if he brings this type of production for another year.

86-87 for me. Same reason as Danny's. If he goes for another year with that, then he should be at the 89-90 range.

I think Curry deserves to be at least an 88. The same rating as James Harden. Both of those guys have been in the league the same amount of years (4) and and Curry puts up comparable numbers to Harden and Curry is a more efficient shooter. Curry also led his team to at least 1 playoff series win without their best big in David Lee. Harden went up from 83 to 88, I think Curry deserves the same. This is not a 1 year fluke for Curry, hes been doing it since he came in the league as a rookie. Look at his career numbers.
BTW I'm not in any way saying I think Harden is overrated, I think he deserves an 88. I just also think Curry deserves to be an 88.
I also think what he has done in the playoffs this year is being undervalued.

I think Harden is definitely one step above Curry. His raw numbers are 26/6/5 compared to 23/7/4 for Curry. Also despite how important Curry is to the Warriors, Harden is even more important to the Rockets, he is the only reason they aren't a 30 win team.
I'd give Curry an 86 for now. Maybe if he repeats this season it can be raised again later. I'd raise his FG rating to 85 and his 3PT rating to 95.

So many scorers in the NBA are scorers because they take a lot of shots & don't always shoot a good % (Carmelo). I disagree about the importance of both guys to their respective teams as well. Houston also gave a ton of money to Jeremy Lin this year. Harden averaged roughly 3 points more a game while shooting lower %'s than Curry. I really don't think there is as big a gap as you are eluding to in regards to Curry/Harden. Curry averaged more assists while Harden averaged more rebounds. Reason I use Harden as my example is because so far everyone in this thread says Curry needs to have another good year to be rated 88. Harden got bumped from 83 to 88 based on what he did this year in Houston. If you look at Curry's career stats compared to Harden's career stats, Curry's are better. Both players in the league 4 years. Curry: 19ppg | 4 rpg | 6 apg | 1.6 spg | 46%/44%/90% Harden: 16 ppg | 4 rpg | 3 apg | 1.3 spg | 44%/37%/84% I just don't think Curry is getting the respect he deserves. I know it's not all about the numbers, but I don't know how anyone can say the numbers don't support Curry. Combined with his playoff success from this year I think he deserves to be at least an 88. Also, not to mention Curry has put up better numbers in the playoffs than in the regular season.

I know it's not all about the numbers, but I don't know how anyone can say the numbers don't support Curry. Combined with his playoff success from this year I think he deserves to be at least an 88. There is nothing spectacular about his FG%. It's certainly above average but could still be better. His 3P% and volume is what is amazing and I support an increase to 95 and maybe even higher for his 3PT rating. Harden's career stats are obviously skewed since he was a role player in OKC. Also while Curry's assists are higher, he is a point guard, and averaging 7 assists as a point guard is nothing special. Now don't get me wrong because I love Curry. He is one of my favourite players and is probably the most exciting player in the league. But imo an 86 and no more than an 87 is him getting the respect he deserves. If he repeats this season next year then he'll merit and 88+ rating imo.

We're just going to have agree to disagree then. Still believe he deserves an 88. Curry has led his team to playoff success while missing their best big man. I just don't know what more the guy can do to prove to some of you how talented a player he is.
Curry is currently rated only 1 point higher than Rookie Damian Lillard. Lillard deserves his rating, but again here is a rookie getting a nice rating based off 1 year. Curry has already done it for 4 years & in the playoffs but yet people still question his ability.

Definitely deserves to be a 85 or 86, but nothing higher for now.
Basically what everyone else said, haha

Always been a big Curry fan. Only real difference this year was more health than in seasons past.
I say 88.

I think Curry should be as high as Kobe! DEFINITELY BAN WORTHY FROM THIS FOURM. But I think he should definitely be atleast as high as Harden at 88. one more year before being 90. But 83 is low for him, he deserves 5 point boost.

I'd say an 87 personally, and like other contributors have said: if he keeps it up then he goes higher.
Tally: 87, 88, 88, 86, 86, 88, 87, 86.
86, 86, 86, 87, 87, 88, 88, 88
So that gives him an 87 -with focus on shooting. I'll add it to the rating changes list.

I'm not saying Curry isn't good, but we've really got to stop reacting so eagerly to everyone ESPN gets wet panties over. Dude shot 43% in the postseason, guys.
I'd say an 85 for now, let him actually develop before we jump the gun based on hype (like we've done with so many other players)
