Mid Level Exception (2022/23)Mid Level Exception - $10,490,000- The only teams who possess the MLE are teams that are over the Salary Cap, and teams under the cap by an amount less than the MLE on the starting day of Off Season Free Agency. If a team drops below the Salary Cap by an amount more than the MLE on that date then they forfeit their MLE.
- GMs may use all or part of their Mid Level Exception to sign a player if their team is over the Salary Cap, but not the Hard Cap.
- The MLE can be used on multiple players.
- The amount of MLE money a team can use resets each season at the start of every Off Season Free Agency. Previous MLE signings have no impact on the amount a team can spend.
Teams who may use the MLE (+ amount spent): Boston Celtics - $8,254,829** Cleveland Cavaliers - $1,500,000* Denver Nuggets - $2,000,000* Golden State Warriors - $2,250,000* Memphis Grizzlies - $6,075,987* Orlando Magic Philadelphia 76ers Portland Trail Blazers Sacramento Kings - $9,767,781*** Washington Wizards See 2021/22 Mid Level Exception thread here.
