Current: 87 Proposed: 86 I'd like to find a steady rating between Murray's two performance levels, playoffs vs regular season. However with the current lag time we have on player ratings being completed Murray will be rated lower during the D5 playoffs and higher during the D5 regular season, which is kinda wrong. I think NBA2k have got it right on Murray: on balance he's an 86. Murray's regular season numbers have been weirdly consistent since we rated him an 83 three seasons ago: 2019: 18.2ppg, 4.2rpg, 4.8apg on 44/37/85 2020: 18.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.8apg on 46/35/88 2021: 18.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.4apg on 44/34/79 but each year he has surprisingly dominant and deep playoff runs, and the tentative bump to 87 happened as a result of last year, but now we know he's back to his usual regular-season-self we can keep that in mind: 2019: 21.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 4.7apg on 43/34/90 (14 games, Western Conference Semi Finals) 2020: 26.5ppg, 4.8rpg, 6.6apg on 51/45/90 (19 games, Western Conference Finals)

I just want to point out the same concerns that I had in the prior thread. We boosted Murray to elite status based on a 19 game bubble performance, whereas we have 3 seasons of evidence (including this year) that he is an 18/4/5 guy on mediocre percentages. I also don't think we can classify him as a "playoff performer" quite yet, as he was pretty much right on his averages in the 2019 playoffs, and the Nuggets only made it to the 2nd round.
So I guess the question is how much we want to value the 19 game bubble run for his overall rating. If we go based on normal Murray, then he's still the same player he was 3 seasons ago, and he's probably an 83. If we want to weigh the bubble heavily, I could see him as an 85.
I'll land right in the middle at an 84, which sorta feels right for Murray as a player

We boosted Murray to elite status based on a 19 game bubble performance GMs were super good in the previous thread, all of them included the fact it was only a 19 game period, so he got an 87. If we based Murray's rating on those 19 games alone he'd be 90+ but I think we did pretty well last time.

"Jamal Murray has scored 20+ points in 11 straight games. His longest such (regular season) streak had been 6 games... He also leads the NBA in TS% over his past 10 games while shooting 50% from three on 9 attempts per game."
I should've just waited and this thread wouldn't have even been required lol
