Clippers accept.
For us, this is simply about continuing to flip players for future assets.
We knew we would not be serious players in free agency this season so all of our deals have been targeted towards clearing cap for others in the short term and making sure we have a ton of cap after NEXT season. Again, this deal keeps us consistent and on target with both our short and long term goals.
Now, with Millsap, Faried and Love all expiring after next season, we have well over $100,000,000 salary that will come off in cap at the same time.
The plan is to add some cheap young players, continue to slowly improve and hopefully be a destination that 2 higher end free agents (maybe 3) would choose together during the 2021-2022 off-season. Again, we feel like this deal clearly continues to accomplish this plan.

I can just feel it. At least two GMs may resign after our offseason. You can just feel the weight of the disappointment that some will not be able to handle. Prepare for it Ian and the Player Agents

The LA Lakers approve this trade. Kawhi was really set on going to LA, that's for sure. But he didn't want to join LeBron. And he only would sign if they could get another star (George) AND the Clippers had a great supporting cast that just made the playoffs. He has said he would have stayed in Toronto if the Clippers didn't bring in George

I remember someone said that he will quit if a trade will push through but did not have the balls of a man to do it when that trade got the green light.
