Rules & Info:

Pick from the list of Available Rookies.

After June 20th the top 5 picks have 2 days to make their pick. First Round picks have 12 hours to be picked. Second Round picks have 6 hour slots that are allotted when the Round begins.

The rights to undrafted rookies, who declared for this year's draft, can also be claimed during the Rookie Draft. An undrafted rookie will remain as "draft rights held" status on your team salaries until they play in the NBA.

Until the June 20th NBA Draft there is no time limit on picks but only the Top 10 rookies may be picked.

If a draftee withdraws from the draft and has been picked here at D5 before June 20th that pick will need to be chosen again, but choice is limited to those players who have not yet been picked (Note: Draftees from the NCAA can no longer withdraw, but international draftees have until 10 days before the NBA Draft - GMs may wish to wait to make their pick for this reason).

If you miss your pick, a random pick may be made for you up to 5 spots further down from where your team is picking. You may change the player that was picked for you at a later time in the draft, but only if the player you'd rather pick has not been taken by other teams.

Submit draft boards to Ian Noble if you're worried about missing your pick.

My elite jedi senses tell me there will be a bust somewhere in the Top 10 and at least a starting calibre player somewhere after.

Yeah in the NBA I could see Clarke falling but I can't see him falling here for example. Imo he has to be Top 6 in everybody draft board.

Isn't that a bit unfair tho? Can't I just offer an undrafted player a 2nd Round contract as soon as the draft is done without making it public, and if nobody bids I get him?

I'm confused as to how an open bidding process can be more unfair than 'let me bid in secret so I can claim dibs'.

Also, since we only create undrafted guys once they make the NBA, it doesn't seem to fit our process.

It would be cool if we had a way to include them though. Like if we all got our two 2-way roster spots and we could claim undrafted players, then if they make the the NBA we have to sign them to a real contract. That would be interesting.

He strikes me as a guy who is perceived to be safer and has real production in both the Adriatic and Euroleagues. The Adriatic was the proving ground for both Jokic and Nurkic, so he’s a high floor guy

Latest draft happenings 24 hours out!

• The Hawks are aggressively looking to move up, and were rebuffed by the Knicks for the 3rd pick. Rumored targets are Jarret Culver and RJ Barrett (more on RJ below..)
• The Knicks brought Darius Garland in for a last minute workout today, with reports of internal disagreement over RJ as the best option at 3. This would be a total Knicks move if they take Garland over Barrett and hand New Orleans RJ with Zion
• The Thunder are aggressively shopping Steven Adams, Dennis Schroeder, and Andre Roberson with the 21st pick for cap relief and multiple picks
• The Celtics are kicking tires on the 4th pick, but are not considering Jaylen Brown in any offer to the Pelicans. Unclear who the target is at 4 for them, but maybe going for Garland to replace Kyrie Irving who appears all but out the door
• The Wizards are zeroing in on Sekou Doumbouya with the 9th pick, as they went to his pro day and had a private workout for him (plus he fills a long term need up front)
• The Pacers have pursued 4, but are unwilling to part with Myles Turner to acquire it
• Cameron Johnson of UNC has been rumored to be medically red flagged due to an undisclosed hip condition, and now his previously projected 1st round standing is in jeopardy 

• The Hornets are open to dealing 12 if it means a team will take one of Batum, Zeller, or Biyombo and provide immediate cap relief

Top 3 get 48 hours, iirc, as in Michi picks at 2:00 today, someone has until two days from that date at 2:00

Then 24 to end of first,

Then 12 slotted in second round, i.e. I have to make my pick from Noon to Midnight on the 30th, if I don't, next pick is up, and I can sneak back and make it whenever, just not anytime before
