I'm kind of thinking I want to vote to reject all of these trades, just on principle. If Amare does get the team then he could start fresh. He can take his time with trading DeRozan, or even resubmit this exact trade, or not trade DeRozan at all. It doesn't really matter, point is there would be no obligations from this weird audition process. Yeah this seems like Lakers getting rejected with Chris Paul thing over and over its not cool or fair to any of the candidates.

I'm going to chip in here as a Portland candidate.
I'm trying to make some trades, but I'm not going to make a trade for the sake of making a trade. I'm trying to be patient and improve the team. Unfortunately what I'm discovering is that, perhaps due to thess posted trades, or perhaps due to contracts, the markets for these players is not particularly great. I would rather hold on to these guys and wait until the off-season than force a trade that makes the team worse.
Portland is honestly in terrible shape. I'm messaging several teams trying to make some moves but it's getting hard to find something worth doing.

I don't mean to be an asshole but when I took over the Grizzlies my best two players were Anderson Varejao and JR Smith with no draft pick. Portland is fucking fine.

Not saying Portland can't be fine. I'm saying they're in bad shape and patience is key. The market for Lowry and DeRozan is currently returning players that, in my opinion, make the team worse. It's not the time to sell. Locked into long deals with undesirable players, stuck in the back of the middle.

I want to accept this trade because it gives some purpose to the Lakers and I feel like Mark Price deserves to finally start making his mark on the franchise. I think if this were two experienced GMs then it might get accepted, but since it's part of the Blazers candidacy it comes with the feeling of the trade not feeling entirely real/legitimate, and Amare being a relatively new GM with a eager trigger finger is a factor (that's not your fault Amare, it's kind of an unfair part of the process).
Looking at it from the Blazers perspective it's just sort of a pointless trade. The earlier Nets trade, when Amare received Winslow and a late 1st Rounder, made more sense because it sent the franchise in a definite direction, but this moves them sideways and down, Dinwiddie's a good guy but he doesn't change that, DeAndre is on a likely inexorable decline in his career IRL, the Blazers will be in a similar place after the trade but with weaker assets to work with.

I reject, if it's needed. Ian's line about moving sideways and down rings very true for me too.
