I accept.
I had three goals for possible moves coming into this season. 1) Get picks 2) get prospects on rookie deals and 3) consolidate assets. This move meets one of those goals. I am consolidating assets with this trade. Future moves will be focusing on the first two.
Ultimately the offers for Jordan weren't going to get me any of the first two or at least not prospects I deemed worthy in a possible move. Jordan is having a monster season in D5 and it hurts to see me move him, but I believe DeRozan will age better than Jordan will. Moving him for DeRozan was a no brainer for me.
The hardest person to move in this trade is Dinwiddie. I believe he has huge upside. He's in my opinion one of the biggest reasons why the Nets are having the year they are. He's phenomenal and I wish I could've kept him in LA. Unfortunately you have to give something of value to get something of value. That's what I'm doing here.
Giving up on Rodney Hood isn't the end of the world. I would have liked to have re-signed him with his Bird Rights, but he wasn't showing much promise this season. Jeremy Lamb and Seth Curry are solid rotation players that I'm sad to be moving. Sterling Brown has some sneaky good upside. I believe in his skills and I hope he pans out to be the player I expect him to be.
Losing my second round picks isn't fun. I'm becoming Ernie Grunfeld with my managing of second round picks which is scary. Also that Plumlee contract sucks. Who the hell gave him over $7,000,000?
Getting DeRozan is huge for this franchise. He's an All-NBA type player and his contract isn't bad. The Lakers have been in a weird spot since I took over the team. I took control of the team without draft picks in 2019 and 2021. My team was full of good players, but not any All-NBA level talent. The lack of draft picks meant I couldn't full on tank and the decent but not great role players meant that I couldn't really go all at it. I'm glad that I'm able to pick him up. I believe the future is looking better in LA even though this move will not help this current team considering I'm giving up 4 starter/rotation players.

Lmfao the trades keep getting worse and worse This is what eveyrone in D5 constantly says. A GM is trying to get into the league by making a move that actually helps his team and this move does. Portland has lost 7 straight games, has no cap space for the forseeable future, and has traded away picks first round picks. None of that is Amare's doing. Everyone will complain about them not getting picks, but until teams start offering picks, what exactly is he supposed to do? If you're going to criticize what Amare is trying to do, at least offer something better on your own. At least this move makes his current team better, gives a promising young player on a rookie deal, and gives the franchise flexibility in the future. I'm not sure who is creating this artificial market for DeRozan, but this is what it is. If it wasn't, someone would've made a better offer.

I don’t know. I think this trade makes more sense than the others.
Dinwiddie is solid, as is Sterling.
Hood is formidable.
Deandre Jordan is a beast and has single handedly carried the Lakers into the playoff picture.
It all just depends on what Portland’s goal is. DeMar’s value is too low/not enough people want to part with long term assets for Portland to go full rebuild. At least this helps them re-tool and remain competitor in the mean time.

I guess either 3rd times a charm or 3rd strike and im out! Im going to state again that for the blazers to get better demar has to go! If winslow and a 1st and cap space isnt enough, and the trade with miami wasn't enough than hopefully we can look at this trade with la with open eyes! I save money which is always good! I pick up a couple 2nds which meh and i pick up some nice players! Jordan is a year older but is still a really good center on a decent contract, dinwiddie has improved every single year and is coming into his prime as is jeremy lamb! Im not sure whos kept track of lambs season but its been really good and efficient! Roodney hood is a enigma and you never know what your going to get but ive always liked him for some weird reason and we feel that we could easily resign him with bird rights! Seth curry is starting to play really well again this year after finally battling back from injury and is also another shooter we would like to resign! And last but not least brown has been the 6th man for the monster bucks the 2nd half of the season esp after brogdon went down to injury and just keeps on delivering and growing and could wind up being a real decent 6th man year in and year out! The blazers also rid themselves of that plumlee contract, and the rest are just throw ins! Now lets run some stats before everyone goes crazy!
(Demar Derozan - 29) *season* 34.9 mpg 21.2 ppg 1.1 spg 6.2 apg 6.0 rpg 83% ft 16% 3p (yuck) 48% fg 19.6 per .543 true 27.9 usuage 6.3 ws (good but his lowest in 3 years)
BLAZERS GET (Deandre Jordan - 30) *season* 29.7 mpg 11 ppg 1.1 bpg 2.3 apg 13.1 rpg 64% fg 19 per .674 true 15.0 usuage 7.1 ws
(Spencer dinwiddie - 26) *season* 28.1 mpg 16.8 ppg 0.6 spg 4.6 apg 2.4 rpg 81% ft 34% 3p 44% fg *per 36* 21.5 ppg 1 spg 5.8 apg 3.1 rpg 16.3 per .580 true 24.9 usuage 4.8 ws

And i forgot to do curry but the post is long enough lol paired with lowry and the blazers upcoming lotto pick and the blazers will not be a blackhole but might have some hope after all! I accept

I don't really see how this one is better than mine. Mark Price said himself that he couldn't get a 1st rounder for DeAndre, yet apparently he can get DeRozan instead?
BKN 2022 1st > DeAndre Jordan
Winslow = Dinwiddie (Winslow has way more potential and is 3 years younger, but having to pay him next year evens it out)
30m+ cap sapce > pile of mediocrity
Anyway, Amare why are you so adamant on trading DeRozan? What direction are you planning on taking the Blazers? You do realize that you don't own 2 of your future 1sts, so trading DeRozan away for youth might not exactly be smart? This just seems like a trade for the sake of trading, without much thought about long-term goals or strategy.

It would be a terrible move to do nothing and sit and spins in place right inside the lottery bc the blazers will not get better in fact in will get quite depressing being their gm if were forced to sit by and watch a team do nothing and not get better or try to make them better! Some of you guys are making out that demar is a god and while hes still really good hes startimg to decline and its easy to tell that by looking at his numbers so sorry to say but sittimg by watching demar and the blazers do nothing will be lotto hell every year with no end or draft picks in sight and im sorry but doing nothing shows a lack of vision or a plan! Just bc the trade we made got rejected josh means you go hateing on someone elses! Yes are deal should have been accepted but it wasn't but if the powers that be truly are fit to stand in the way of making the blazers better than i cant be a canidate either bc it would be a complete waste of time to not try to do something!!

And as far as his percieved value did we all forget his real life trade Demar + poeltl + 19 1st For Leonard + green
Leonard with a expiring contract and is the better player and a year younger but they traded demar for a small percentage chance to resign kawaii or basically have given up demar+ for green and i was 1 of the bigger kawaii might change his mind and stay in toronto but i even read a article yesterday where despite the raps success, and being in the east wheres theirs a easier path to success he has 1 foot out the door to the clippers bc he dont want to play with bron bron on the lakers! So if thats the case than 1 year of kawaii Danny green For Derozan Poeltl 19 1st
But in d5 im not getting enough? Hmm looks like his value wasn't all that high to the raptors either considering they're 90% gonna loose kawaii for nothing and only have danny green to show for it! Js

I had offers for first round picks for him, but they would fall in the mid to late 20s which didn't make a move like that worth it for me. I can't confirm, but im assuming that's what the market was like for DDR too. Teams aren't parting with lottery picks to get players entering their 30s. Also, I think you're looking at the trade wrong if you're viewing Jordan as the best asset being moved. Dinwiddie is the best asset going to Portland in this trade for my money.

To be fair and I think you'll see this with most of the successful GMs. Sometimes sitting and doing nothing as a basketball executive both in real life and in D5 is the best option.

Yes if you have somerhing to sit and wait for which this blazers team does not have!!! Its 100% fine with me if thats the way you guys see this team as a wait and see with 2 aging vets, 1 lotto pick coming, and donte d, with hardly any cap and i guess the mle so their headed for 32-50 this year Next year if demar or lowry fall off they will be 28-54 with no pick at best 34 wins then the next year they get their pick back but lowry will be 35 i believe and demar pushing 33 on terrible contracts by then with hardly any value. If thats the approach to this certain team with no way off digging out of the black hole Jerry West talked about than i think id pass on being their gm as well

I just don't understand what everyone is expecting Amare to do or what this whole selection process is. He's more active on here than 80% of GMs and has been trying to make this team better for months. If he was a GM for any considerable time before any three of those deals would've been passed. There's been some terrible one sided deals here recently (John Wall) and none of the three he's done are nearly one sided once you put what he's working with into context.
It's amazing to me that anyone would want to be the GM of Portland. They're in a really terrible spot. They don't have any assets or draft picks for the foreseeable future. If the trade committee really cared about Portland's future they shouldn't have allowed them to trade away Kyrie for two guards on the back end of their career.

Tom Izzo watching Jerry and Amare both drop out of the GM race And i never said i was dropping out unless everyone is content with the blazers doing nothing bc their not build for that! Scared money dont make money and this team is running out of time! I agree trade with miami rushed! But i did and still do believe the trade with josh barber was killer for the blazers and ive talked with about half of the gms here that agree but they never really spoke up! And most of the negative commenets started with other canidates but i expect that! Now theirs other gms that like this 3rd trade and see how it helps the blazers but again some people who dont. But im sure we can all agree either 1 of these trades is more even than chi/sac but that went through with flying colors? And whats funny is everyone was like how is the bulls getting the picks 2 hahaha bc i told him to go for more stuff and kings bought it 😆 This blazers team needs a makeover and reboot and im more than willing to spend my time making this team good again and being extremely active and working hard as well as losing if need be but if im forced to watch them loose with no real future in sight at all well than their are some super conservative canidates! But its just a real shame their are assistants or canidates that are very active and have their own vision but seem they cant get a team while some gms check in when they want and win awards for least active but hold positions! I hope someone can see how very frustrating all this can be!

Lets look at it like this... Ian noble steps to podium and names amare stoudamire the new blazers gm! Amare steps to the podiums to claps as frustrated blazers fan wait to hear about how their team is going to turn things around and they hear.... Thanks Mr. Noble and all the blazer fans! Im here to get the blazers back to their winning ways like in the beginning of d5 and even though questionable moves by former gm brandon roy left us basically with no draft picks and a aging backcourt that cant even get the team to .500 my new plan to blazer nation is to sit tight and wait this out and by 2023 we will be ready to start our rebuild and by 2027 will be ready to compete! Im sure the fan base would love that 😠 Or would they want to here dang we lose demar but we gain all these young guys coming into their prime and some cap space and some draft picks (thats actually hope) or were losing demar but were getting a 23 yr old winslow who is starting to look really good, max cap space to start over, a 1st round in 2022 so now at least the blazers have a 1st every year except 2020 (that actually hope) If you were a fan of this d5 team which would you rather hear??

I'm kind of thinking I want to vote to reject all of these trades, just on principle. If Amare does get the team then he could start fresh. He can take his time with trading DeRozan, or even resubmit this exact trade, or not trade DeRozan at all. It doesn't really matter, point is there would be no obligations from this weird audition process.
