Brandon Ingram magically gets more efficient, Kuzma magically turns into a 3pt shooter after not giving any hints that he was.
One common denominator = Lonzo Ball

Eric Bledsoe struggled a bit to shake off his rust when first traded to Milwaukee, but he's clicking in December now!
19.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.8 3pg.
Go baby go!

Collins finally showing some life getting some playing time. Rotating as the other forward with Aminu and getting some healthy minutes at backup C over Meyer Leonard (finally!). Looks decent when he is playing and the ability to play both positions is going to be great for his career. The most raw prospect in the draft has finally earned his coach's trust!

Lonzo Ball out, Ingram crashes back to earth, Kuzma surprisingly still ok. Terrence Fergusen gets huge headline on ESPN over one OK shooting night.

Eric Bledsoe! 19.2 / 4.2r / 4.4a / 2.1s !!! / 0.5b (great from a guard!) / 1.9 3pt per game, shooting 46.8% FG, 75.7% FT over the last month.
Last 2 weeks: 18.9p / 4.7r / 5.4a / 2.0s !!! / 0.4b / 1.9 3pt per game, shooting 51.1% FG, 81.8% FT.
Keep an eye out. He's returning to his bad ass form and we're loving it here in D5-universe-Minnesota!

Damn, BLAKE GRIFFIN!!! Been back for 4 games so far, this is all he's done...
24p, 6r, 6a, 1s with a 3pt, 11/12 from the line, 6/15 FG (not great there, but it gets better) 25p, 7r, 6a, 1s, 2b with 2 3pt, 5/6 FT, and 9/17 FG 21p, 6r, 8a with a 3pt, 2/3 FT, and 9/18 FG 24p, 9r, 7a with 2 3pt, 6/8 FT, and 8/19 FG
My man is killing it, the assists are nuts, he's running the offense, while scoring alot himself and continuing to solidify his 3pt shot as very legitimate.

Watching the Celts-TWolves game yesterday where Andrew Wiggins and Jayson Tatum happened to be matched up most (but interestingly not all) of the time they were on the floor. Really stark differences.
No, Tatum's probably not a 47% three point shooter. But what he has going for him is he's also hitting 46% on long twos, and major regression candidates don't do that. Look for example at Jae Crowder, who in the year he shot 40% from three hit only 36% on long twos, and now he's right back to the 32 3P% guy he always was before. Long jump shots are long jump shots, small sample are small samples, but at least we won't have to watch the painful mental gymnastics of
"yeah but Wiggins shot 37% the first three months of the season, he's just tired! rookie wall!"
"well actually, Wiggins shot 40% the last three months of the season! he's figuring it out in year two! huh! you PEOPLE judge players too quickly!"
What I found a lot more exciting about Tatum was defensively. He's nowhere near the athlete Wiggins is in any category - lateral quickness, vertical, first step, there's no competition. You know when vertical leap and lateral quickness is meaningless? When you're standing around not paying attention to the game like a bozo. It's year four and Wiggins still meanders through most possessions. On defense he's routinely in no man's land - neither close enough to help nor recover, not boxing out or going for the rebound or leaking out in transition, hands down, head fixed. Sure he'll throw in a highlight reel block once a game or so, but there are a hundred possessions. What's he doing the other ninety nine?
Now you want to see someone with defensive chops, watch Tatum off the ball sometime. "See the man, see the ball" the coaches say, and you can almost see that running through Tatum's brain as he snaps his eyes back and forth - ball, man, ball, man. As mentioned he doesn't have elite quickness but he still defends with his feet, anticipating the action, getting in good position, keeping his hands high and not reaching. He also was briefly assigned to defense Taj Gibson at the four and looked very credible defending the pick and roll as a big man, and after Boston assigned Kyrie to defend Wiggins(!!!!!) he looked credible guarding point guard Tyus Jones too. You definitely don't want him doing the latter full time, he's just not quick enough, but like Tristan Thompson you only have to do it for a few seconds here and there to fundamentally change what your defense can do.
Individual defense is really hard to measure. One thing a lot of rookies struggle with is not fouling, and Tatum is way ahead of the curve there. The NBA average last year for rotation players was 3.0 fouls per 36 minutes, and an even higher 3.3 for rookies. Tatum's at 2.5. Granted as a primarily perimeter player he does have an easier time but still. I've been Watching The Games on these ballyhooed young pups since Anthony Davis, and I've never been as impressed with a rookie defender.

Dre puts up 22 points, 20 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks against the Nets. First to do that since Garnett in 2004.Also sat the entire 4th quarter Of your offseason signings this was probably my favorite one. People were so down on Drummond last year but forget that he's only 24 years old in one of the more potential filled bodies in the NBA. Bigs take a while to develop in general and just because everyone isn't Embiid or Towns doesn't mean they are a bust in 3 years. If this passing and FT keep up he's gonna be the best bet you made this past year. With Lillard and Bradley you can't really expect any marked improvement from them. Lillards gonna hover around 90, Avery might get another 1-2 OVR before he's 30. But Drummond could get 6-9 OVR by the time those two are 30ish. Meaning that this team, if managed well could be one of the best in the league potentially opening a title window as teams like Chicago, Denver, OKC and Charlotte run into problems.

I think Lillard is balling out and playing like a 90 overall, having kept Portland relevant his entire career, but he's reached his potential. Bradley has been a slight disappointment this year, but he could bounce back and get an increase in the future. I didn't acquire Porter myself, but I'm excited about what he's gonna become. Dre and Porter are my future, and they're both playing great basketball right now. I have noticed that players are given up on in this league quite early, so I'm glad I was able to snag Drummond. As for his passing and free throw improvements, I don't think they're going anywhere. His FT% has hovered around 60% all year, so I'm confident that's where it'll stay. His passing improvement is just a result of the system that SVG has created around him. Having bigs play away from the basket is the new norm, so I think his assists are here to stay. I'm just glad that SVG was able to find a system that works for our best player, instead of giving up on him!

Donovan Mitchell vs Charlotte
35pts, 5rebs, 2stls 10-20 FG 5-11 3pt
No assists and 5 turnovers is a bit sad but I like those positive shooting numbers. No other starter scored in double digits. I'm starting to think they should put Donovan at the point and let Hood play the 2. Sit Rubio.

Davis Bertans - 18 pts, 6-8 shooting, 6-7 from 3, 1 ast, 1 rebound 23 mins
This guy doesn't do much but drain threes, he's tall but more of a SF. If he can pick up even an average ability to defend and really tries with rebounding he'll be a pretty solid Korver/Ryan Anderson style 78-79 specialist.
