G - Jamal Murray
Player Statistics:
Drafted: 2016 1st round (6th pick) by the Boston Celtics (2016 Draft)
2016/17 - A draft day trade with the Grizzlies brought Murray to Boston where he was immediately inserted into the starting lineup, taking the leading role from Ben McLemore for the first time in 4 seasons. Murray's promising performances for the Nuggets in real life earned him increasing recognition and on February 18th he drained ten three-pointers to win MVP of the All Star Weekend's Rising Stars Game! Jamal was the most consistent member of the Celtics team, the only player starting and playing in every regular season game, contributing enough to be listed in the Rookie of the Year discussion.
2017/18 - Murray started off the year slowly in 17/18 but still received a ratings boost anyway, jumping from 73 to 76 in the first month of the season! As the season progressed Jamal's contributions for the Nuggets massively improved, regularly shooting over 40% from 3PT range and scoring at or around 30 or more points in multiple games whilst being the primary anchor of Denver's offense. Having received his rating boost before his improved play however, Murray's FG and 3PT ratings remained at a low 67 and 71 respectively and he was relegated out of the starting lineup at D5 in favour of newly acquired veteran George Hill and fellow 2016 draftee Jaylen Brown. Jamal would receive another ratings boost after several months bringing him up to an 80 overall, though still not good enough to crack the starting lineup in Boston where he competed for minutes with Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown and veteran George Hill.
