Step Up Your Games!
This year in my Overseer role I've come across a huge disparity between how much dedication GMs are putting into their offers. I wanted to give fair warning to GMs:
Warning: If you want to sign a player, or even re-sign your own BR player, Step Up Your Game!
Simply outlining the terms of a contract, or writing a few sentences about how you'd prefer someone else but you'll settle for this guy, is NOT going to cut it when rivals are writing lengthy page-long break-downs of every facet that should benefit their offer! Even if you're re-signing a guy on BRs!
Show some dedication and players will repay the favour!

One thing that has keep me thinking today is, what do the GMs in real life say to the players, specially the non-stars, to sign right away and not say, "thank you, we love your offer but we want to wait for now."
Hmmmmm.

Glad to be sitting out on FA this time. If you need some impartial GM suggestions later, I'm your guy.

Show some dedication and players will repay the favour! You are not serious with this comment right, if people have that much time in their fucking life to write 10 page essays on a virtual league and wanting players on a virtual league then I don't know what to say.

Only the Sith deal in extremes Anakin. War and Peace does not need to be forthcoming. But if you're bidding on a player with whom you have BRs you still need to actually put in at least some effort.

Do you think this league can replicate every single thing that happens in real life yes/no answer only please. Unless you can bring imaginary marketing deals, endorsements, lifestyle, family tickets, buy a home for the family and move them there, give them VIP seats, tell them detail per detail about how we are gonna play you exactly at that particular position how we are gonna sign this guy and that guy and how we are gonna use analytics to win 10 championships in a row, and how this GM's vision lines up with yours. How your brand and appeal will make you and the team look good. If you think so then good for you *two thumbs up* Or if that's your criteria that you are looking for as both someone that's signing players and someone that's being a PA to players.

But take 5-10 minutes to write up the reasons you think a player should sign with you isn't unreasonable.

I agree somewhat. Most of us dont have the time with families and kids and our lives. Not only that I can tell you from experience in the past and already this season, that writing up multiple offers and being honest takes time and when you hear that Your not good enough or in the running its like I have wasted time that I should be spending with famil or on something else. You can make up shit or tell lies but what really counts is a GMs dedication in the future and their game plan to win.

I gotta agree big time. I saw an offer something like this.
"I know he is going to come here. What does he want? We'll offer this (less than I'm seeing that player get IRL).
Thanks"
I was like...umm, that's not going to do it fella.

Here is what I messaged Magic Johnson:
I understand what you mean when you say you don't have all day to type up an offer. Because of the Free Agents I have I have really only had time to offer for 1 free agent and focus on the draft. Some people are typing up 10 or more paragraphs worth of stuff. Some include pictures and photo-shopped jerseys. They are really going above and beyond.
Now I will say this, my offer had 2 paragraphs and took me about 5 minutes to do. I don't know how to use photoshop and would hate to find out that I lost out on a franchise altering free agent because of that.
I do not try and let too much fluff be that much of an advantage. Because I understand not everyone can do that, hell I can't even do it. Those people are typing up the 10 paragraphs and including pictures because the offer itself is fun.
You are supposed to have fun with the process of convincing that player that he should sign with your team. It isn't always going to work out but its a part of the process.
You're a good GM, your team is in a good spot you should have no problems thinking up a few arguments for players to join your team, or better yet to not join a competing team.

Lol if you're just sending in contract values why even be in a league that uses player agents

One thing to takeaway from Magic's comment is, he should really appreciates PA's work because he knows the sacrifices that they are making.
