Sucks.
Current Rating 80 Suggested Rating 77
12.2-6.4-3.4 while shooting 50% from the FT line
Similar recently changed players:
Greg Monroe 83 (16-10-2) Enes Kanter 78 (15-9-1)

dynasty5ive.proboards.com/thread/4950/josh-smithAlso, Smith has some garbage points that get him a high overall like a very high dunking ability and 3-point shooting. He is not a great outside shooter and he shoots more than he should but if you compare him with a pf who doesn´t shoot from outside he probably gets a 3 overall points difference only considering that category. I probably would take a PF with a 77 overall, 1 in 3-pointer and no 3PA over a 80 pf with 60 in 3-pointer and several 3PA but that is a different story.

Actually Josh Smith needs a rating increase if anything. He's been way better in Houston and if you look at Smith's specific ratings he's getting screwed over. His FG rating is 67 and his 3PT rating is 50. While in Houston though he's shooting 44% in total and 33% from three. Those ratings are way too low and they're probably the two most important ratings for a player.
Also the comparisons to Monroe and Kanter aren't very good ones. At the time we set Kanter's rating he was averaging like 13 and 7 for Utah. Since joining the Thunder he's been way better as well as he even said in interviews he stopped trying in Utah. With how much better he's played he needs an increase imo, despite his awful defense. Monroe plays 32 minutes per game while Smith plays 28 minutes (25 in Houston). Smith's per 36 numbers are very good:
16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.8 blocks, 1.4 steals
He's pretty good at everything.
He was also decreased recently so there isn't much need to do anything until next season when we see how he is completely removed from Detroit.

Yea, agreed with Alex.
If I have any power here as the Ratings guy, I say we close this thread and just wait for next year where we can factor in his Houston stats from this year along with whatever he does in the first couple months next season for a new rating.
Let's leave him alone for now.

Yeah, good points, idgaf close it. "better in houston" though is a bit of a misnomer, he still sucks. especially considering the high opinion people seem to have of him, maybe he will get his rating drop after you see what he can do. Monte is better than Smith by a mile.

80 is a good spot for him given his athleticism and defensive ability. But only for those reasons.
