Brooklyn Nets59 Hassan Whiteside 2,500,000 2,500,000 2,500,000 2,500,000 2016 DEN 2nd Utah Jazz77 MKG $2,541,600 $3,227,832 $4,328,523 Well, I've been bitten by the Linsanity bug. MKG is redundant on my roster due to Jabari Parker and Thaddeus Young... taking a chance here. 30% if pays off, but if it does, it will be big for Utah. This is the type of trade we need to put butts in seats! The guy is playing with a lot of energy right now... hopefully he can sustain it. Maybe, maybe not. Right now he is playing like the next DeAndre Jordan or Drummond right now. His emergence would be like anything no one has ever seen... and thats what I want on my team. Any man with length can come in and block a bunch of shots and get rebounds... but look at the offensive touch he has been showing: streamable.com/898He looks like one of the best young post players in the league.

Hassan Whiteside's emmergence is exactly like every other average player who out of nowhere gets big minutes in the middle of the season. I knew I should have kept my huge offer in there. Couldn't at least get a 2nd rounder out of this?

Should really be a rule about trading a FA signing so soon after the signing but I don't think there is yet.
I'll wait for Barber to admit his mortality before putting in a vote though

If anybody is redundant it's Parker and Young, not MKG. Weird trade. Can Hassan sustain this level of play?

I'll wait for Barber to admit his mortality before putting in a vote though How many times do GMs in this league sign a player just to be able for a trade to work. Or how many times has all of us traded at least once a player we just signed..multiple. Ive seen it many times. But as for Whiteside being another McGee type player..and we all ask if can he continue to do this? His rating def needs increased before the trade should go through. Nets get a 77 player to use while Utah has to sit and wait for the increase or maybe even a realization of a mistake.

This trade seems a bit off. I don't really like the idea of signing a player just to trade him. I don't think Whiteside has the potential of MKG either.

If it's not too far off, and the only difference is someones vague potential, then it should probably just go through, don't you think?

I wouldn't say it is a vague potential. My problem with the trade is the signing and trading part. Point is, if you could have signed Whiteside, this trade wouldn't be happening. He had no intention on keeping the guy, but to offer him the highest contract and trade him away. Just seems a bit sketchy.

He was going to wait to get the most he could. At least he didnt get much more. Lol. But in all I see why both do the trade. Josh might get worse deal in the end. I just think Whitesides rating needs increased sooner than weeks from now. Not to how he is doing but half way between where he's playin at and is rated at. I agree if its fair and both teams really want it..so be it.

I had every intention of keeping Whiteside, but I've been getting offers all week so I decided I may as well sell high. I'm playing with house money anyway.

Whatever, I accept. I know how much Adam is in love with Whiteside. Utah has enough other good pieces that this won't kill them if Whiteside flops.

I was trying to get a mid 1st for MKG but everyone said he sucked too much. All I wouldve done was draft best C available. ill take someone who has at least proven they can perform at an nba level. the contract is basically a 1st

I don't like this trade (not because of value) but this sets a bad precedent of just signing a inseason FA and trading him at any time.

Well then make a rule saying you have to have a player for 90 days. Post trade, of course

I accept, but this does bring up the lack of realism in signing and instantly trading a guy. If all our systems were automated and we had some programming precision to enforce that rule, then it should definitely be implemented.
For now though, trade passed.

On the league salary database, MCW is on both mine and brooklyns team, and hassan whiteside is still on brooklyn.
Thanks!
