Well. What a process! We had around 11 offers to sift through, and it was very difficult. Pro & Con lists were made, remade, and thought over one by one. Some eliminations were slightly more easy than others, but almost every team had a leg to stand on and some kind of legitimate reasoning for Serge to play for them.
In the end, Serge has had one team in mind through this whole process that really intrigued him. The future looks bright in Charlotte. They have added what we believe is a budding superstar in Andrew Wiggins that Serge can grow with for a long time. Mike Conley is a great Point Guard/Floor General. Eric Bledsoe is another star-type player that we believe will now strongly consider returning to Charlotte when his contract is up. Nerlens Noel has a lot of potential and Robin Lopez is a nice true center to play alongside Serge.
On top of all of that, Reggie Jackson, John Henson, Khris Middleton and the 14th pick are still around and add value to this team. On top of THAT, there is still a good amount of Cap Space for this year or next year to add another great piece.
Both Serge and myself were also incredibly impressed with James Kay's knowledge about the game, and are very confident that Charlotte has a great future ahead of them.
Congrats to James Kay and the Charlotte Hornets, let's go make some noise!
Year 1: $13,000,000 Year 2: $13,897,983 Year 3: $14,913,194 Year 4: $16,123,216 (PO) Year 5: $17,654,567
Total contract is 5 years worth $75,588,960
