Draft analysis: Holy shit this has been one of the most unpredictable drafts in years. Here is my analysis of it for the real life and also the D5 impact.
1st overall pick:
Andrew Wiggins
This was the only pick that made sense. The pick the Cavs were gonna make was going to be based on need, because they were a unique #1 overall pick they got to pick by need rather than best player available.
2nd overall pick:
Jabari Parker
Jabari as its stands right now is the best player in the draft, hes a guy who can come in an average 18-20ppg. For D5 purposes I think he can average a 77-78 OVR his rookie season which is huge because once a guy hits 20ppg its hard to keep him from an 80OVR as I've found.
3rd overall pick
Joel Embiid
Without the injury James and the Cavs take him #1 every time and twice on Sunday . He's the guy who can be the Yin (Offense) to A. Davis's Yang (Defense). Seriously without the injury he's worth 2 #1 picks. Which makes him a great value pick at #3
#4 pick
Aaron Gordon
Fucking told you guys people thought he was awesome. He should start out in D5 with at minimum solid athleticism and defense stats. All that will be separating him from an 85 OVR will be his offense. This is a high upside low downside pick. At worst he's a defender who can stop the first 4 positions.
#5 pick
Dante Exum
People just plain don't know who this kid is, Chad Ford of ESPN had a real big boner over Exum but in all actuality he's watching the same draft express videos I am and he's the Embiid of the guards this year. Either amazing or terrible.
#6 pick
Marcus Smart
I love Marcus Smart and I want to have his babies.
#7
Julius Randle
Either you REALLY love Randle or you hope he's a drug dealer for some reason to not draft him at 7. Because he certainly earned himself to being this high on the draft board.
#8
Nik Stauskas
Guy is knock out shooter from distance but makes up for it in offensive creativity.
