FIRE UP THE TANK! This weekend Grizzlies GM Jeremiah Hill agreed to a trade with the Washington Wizards sending JR Smith out of town in exchange for French prospect Evan Fournier and the Memphis 2015 pick. In addition to this anonymous league front office sources report that guards Mario Chalmers and Rodney Stuckey are headed out of town as well. It's unknown who is coming back in exchange but rumors have mentioned big man Andris Biedrins. Local resident and pro wrestler Ric Flair sounded off: "Damnit, I'm so pissed right now, Biedrins are you FREAKING KIDDING ME!"
When asked for comment about why he refused to put a shirt on he simply replied "WOOOOOO!" and "Where am I?".
Asked for comment rookie GM Jeremiah Hill had this to say:
"Listen, this team wasn't winning a championship, I think we have the pieces to other team's puzzles. It's no secret that this upcoming draft is one of the most talented in recent memory. My goal here is to win a Championship."
He paused to comb his hair and mustache for a moment.
"We want to build a contender and long term success in the league and we believe that it's time to take the team in a different direction. I know fans aren't happy about this move and won't be regarding some of the other moves, but they are just gonna need a bit of patience and I promise they will be pleased with the final product."
He then resumed combing his hair and mustache in silence until I left.

GM's don't usually claim they are tanking out of fear of being reprimanded in the draft lottery. Better hope Commissioner Noble lives up to his last name.

There is an article called Tank Rank. Plus it's not me saying it, it's the news.

Pure genius, I'm glad I was able to make a small contribution to this...

Taking my team in this direction is clearly the best option for how my team was set up when I got it. I didn't have my 2015 pick so I couldn't even trade this years pick to get better for the playoffs. Yeah my team got off to a good start, but so did the 2011/2012 Cavs after they lost LBJ and we all know how that worked. I don't call this tanking, I call it rebuilding for sustained success because I had nothing to build on.
Whoever had this team before me didn't do so well and I just don't see what they got for Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Zach Randolph and who they got for them that they needed to give up that pick for.

Ian is doing the same with his team, but obviously he's gonna get better assets because Rondo is worth twice what any of the guys on my team are.

Yeah I am not blaming my boy Greg Schiano for Memphis' failures, but I think I am referring to Sam Presti. He traded all the good Grizzles for crap.

Hey cool, didn't know about that thread. It's interesting that we are now down to just 10 original GMs since we lost Dominique Wilkins, Otis Smith, Aubrey Graham, Jackie Moon, JJ Savage and JP Inawat during this off-season. All 6 were original GMs.

Wow, my team has had 3 different plans started by 3 different people. That explains this roster.

Wow, my team has had 3 different plans started by 3 different people. That explains this roster. Ditto for the Pistons... McAdoo, Bob
Dumars, Joe: June 2013 - January 2014
Cohen, Zach: May 2013 - June 2013
Dumars, Joe: May 2012 - May 2013...but at least I still have Greg "Moose" Monroe and a few bits that might help me win a couple series and sneak into the CF in the weak and tanking Eastern Conference. Might as well try to win since my predecessors unloaded the 1st round pick...
