Current Rating: 82 Suggested Rating: 86
This year, with a lot of pressure on him with Westbrook out, hes still shooting 54% from the field, 77% from the line, to go with 15ppg and 9rpg - not to mention his 2.5bpg. If you watch a lot of Thunder games, you'd know he does more than easy dunks, rebounds, block shots. His mid-range is deadly. Durant is playing like the best player in the league right now, but there's no way the OKC Thunder are in first place in the West with Durant and a cast of players rated at or under 82.

Not to mention that those numbers I posted include his poor start of adjusting to Westbrook's absence. Over his last 17 games, he's shooting 60% from the field, 80% from the line, 17ppg, 8rbpg, 3bpg.

He's fine at 82 for now. He needs to play at a high level for way longer than 17 games to deserve an 86.

I agree maybe an 83 or 84 but he wilted during the playoffs last year so I think 86 is too high

Ok.... Josh Barber he clearly does not deserve a decrease. \
Anyway his performance over the past 17 games is deserving of MORE than an 86. I think his season performance alone warrants it.
Like I said before, and I'd like if someone would address it, how are the Thunder 1st in the West with Durant and sub-83 players?
Ibaka is the second-option on a monster title contender, and is also the defensive anchor. He's better than an 82.

Just think about this guys, Amare Stoudemire is an 87 right now, a guy averaging career lows in pretty much everything. Who would you rather have on your team?

I think he's fine where he is. He still needs more time to show us what he's got

This isn't an argument for Ibaka unless you want to say that Amare deserves that 87. Which everyone knows he doesn't. In fact he has a pending rating decrease to 79.

85. Defensive stats should be maxed the hell out, and he really does have a nice offensive game, he's been working on it a lot. I could see him higher but would like to see him keep it up longer. For now, 85 for me.

I vote for an 85 and let me copy and paste some of my old threads because he is grossly underrated.
You guys are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY off! I just don't get the logic, we make Earl Clark a 76 when he averages 5 and 3 but want to lower Josh Smith when he averages 16 and 7? Maybe the answer to this problem constitutes RAISING IBAKA LIKE I HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ibaka: 15/9/2.5 (blk)/.5(stl)/1(asst) JSmith: 16/7/1.5(blk)/2(stl)/3.5(asst)
They are comparable but I think Josh Smith is still a better overall player. I would say leave Josh Smith at an 87 and make Ibaka an 85, but I could see lowering Smith to an 85. Therefore, Mr. King, I think you should edit this threat and turn it into a "raise Serge Ibaka" instead of trying to beat up on poor ole's Smith. Besides, even if you wanted to lower, he's been super productive in the past and people don't usually get lowered THAT MUCH that quickly unless they just fall off the face of the earth. Like I said, I could respect lowering Smith to an 85.

Current Overall Rating: 80 Suggested Overall Rating: 85 Ratings That Should Increase: FG Shooting, Offensive Awareness, Free Throws, Range, Inside Scoring, and Stamina. Stats: 14.8 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 3.4 BPG, 60.2 FG%, and 88.1 FT%. In the past, Ibaka did SO MUCH for OKC that I felt like his rating did not reflect his productivity on the court. If you need proof of that, look at his performance in the playoffs last year; unbelievable! However, his current offensive stats are beyond amazing and demonstrate his improvement. While I know Harden's departure gives him more opportunities on the offensive end, it does not explain his field goal and free throw percentages. For a player to improve his free throw percentage by TWENTY-TWO PERCENT shows commitment and makes that player much more lethal. Can you imagine if Shaq could have improved his free throw percentage by 22 percent? That is good enough for 17th in the whole league, and 3rd amongst big men behind Marc Gasol and Brandon Bass. His field goal percent went from a respectable 53 percent to an astounding 60 percent. Currently, Ibaka sits 4th in field goal % in the NBA behind Tyson Chandler, Dwight Howard, and DeAndre Jordan. Offensively, all Chandler, Howard, and Jordan can do is dunk, while Ibaka can help an offense in many more ways because of his perimeter shooting. Thus, those three are likely to shoot a higher field goal percentage because they do not shoot unless it is a dunk; making Ibaka's accomplishment much more impressive. Additionally, despite his improved offensive game, Ibaka still leads the league in shot blocking year in and year out. Thus, Ibaka produces as much, if not more, than players around his suggested rating. Even if points and rebounds are similar with some of these guys, Ibaka stills blocks more shots than they do. Some comparable include: 82 DeMarcus Cousins - 82 Nene 82 Emeka Okafor 82 Tyson Chandler 82 Andrew Bogut 82 David West 83 Zach Randolph 83 Rashard Lewis 83 Marc Gasol 83 Shawn Marion 83 Metta World Peace 83 Joakim Noah 84 Paul Millsap 84 Luol Deng 84 Al Jefferson 84 Elton Brand 85 Gerald Wallace 85 Carlos Boozer 85 Lamar Odom 86 Al Horford 89 Pau Gasol 90 Kevin Garnett 93 Amar'e Stoudemire Best Comparable: Josh Smith (85) - 2012/2013 Stats: + = Josh Smith Wins - = Serge Ibaka Wins 16.1 PPG (+1.3) 7.6 RPG (Exact Same; Ibaka gets more Offensive Rebounds) 3.7 APG (+3.3) 2.4 BPG (-1.0) 1.4 SPG (+1.2) FG%: 44.4% (-15.8%) FT%: 47.8% (-40.3%) As you can see, I think Ibaka makes a pretty strong case for a rating increase.
