Sacramento Kings sends: 84 DeJounte Murray 31,050,000 33,075,000 74 Darius Bazley 12,000,000 12,000,000 12,000,000 80 Keldon Johnson 1,954,786 72 Kendrick Nunn 1,017,781 Total: 46,022,567 Memphis Grizzlies sends: 90 Paul George 46,793,775 49,658,700 I agree with this trade. Doesn’t get us over the hard cap and I get to have a reasonable return for PG. Amare Stoudemire

I accept
I'm losing 2 great pieces but picking up a stud in PG13 who has been absolutely balling this season and fits right into my plan for a great season and getting back to the playoffs

Since this is first trade for a Memphis GM I would like to see bit more explanation for longer term vision for such a big trade? Specifically when looking at next offseason, Hard cap and likelyhood of having to give Murray a max-contract and probably 20-30 million per year for Keldon.

Specifically when looking at next offseason, Hard cap and likelyhood of having to give Murray a max-contract and probably 20-30 million per year for Keldon. Appreciate the inquiry on an explanation for this move. As I said during my application to be the team's new GM, the current roster is too old and only has 1-2 more years of window to contend with PG and Kawhi as the main guys. Hence, a plan to get younger while the team is still competitive is the direction I am going with. We are still planning to compete while trying to get younger guys to replace the old ones. I understand the hard cap concern for next OSFA as I need to extend Murray, Johnson and Jones next offseason but I still plan on making moves to obtain enough cap space to re-sign these guys. Additionally, I am currently too close to the hard cap and will need to sign 2 more players to fill my 12-man roster if I do not do this trade. By doing this trade, it allows me to have enough players going into the season while staying below the hard cap.

I am going to reject.
I’ve complained for a while that the TC has been asleep at the wheel, and now that I’m on the TC I guess I need to put my money where my mouth is. I don’t think the value in this trade is necessarily egregious, although I do think it’s light for PG. However, I think Dell is simply too new to the league to appreciate the nuances of making a deal like this. It is extremely hard to get a 90+ player in D5, and immediately trading one away after becoming a GM does not show the proper level of thoughtfulness and due diligence IMO. We have seen time and time again that veteran GMs try to take advantage of new GMs (I’m guilty of this myself but it doesn’t make it right). If Dell still wants to do this trade a month from now then I would probably accept. But I’m rejecting today on the basis of a new GM immediately trading away a top 15 player.

I'm gonna accept.
Not a big fan of the value Memphis is getting, and that they in my opinion put themselves even a worse spot cap wise long term, but they are still a franchise with plenty of assets and can make a lot of different moves to retool. For a worse team, I would lean to reject.
Also I know Dell is new at D5, but the same GM has been many years running a team at D720, so I do have the confidence in Dell to understand what he is doing, and to stick around to shape the team as he likes for long term.

This is a tough one. I'm not sure Murray is as far in value from PG as the ratings suggest, but then I'm not sure Keldon is that great, and you probably have to overpay him to keep him. If this ends up being Dejounte Murray and two bad contracts for PG then that's pretty weak. What this trade really needs is a 1st round pick added to it. Judging as is I think I'll reject. I pretty much agree with what Andrei Kirilenko said. I think this is a new GM jumping the gun a little bit. It's still the off season. Activity is low. Shopping PG should get a better deal than this. If not, then a month or two from now it wouldn't be awful to redo this deal.

After giving this more thought, I'm changing my vote to reject also.
We are not even in season yet and for example when December 15th deadline for trading FAs is around there could be much more teams to make good offers for a top player like PG.
New GM should not sell early just because he can. If this same trade is posted later and it's the best return Memphis is getting, I have no issue accepting then. As Memphis is planning on competing, there is no harm keeping PG for some games in start of the season.
