Should probably be stickied in the trade forum tbh.
The NBA may look to react to the NCAA corruption discoveries by removing the 1 and done rules before the new CBA. So we could potentially see 2 top ranked highschool classes in the same draft from 2021 to 2024.
Teams should be weary of trading these years and they should be considered to have extra value. It would mean essentially a top 28 pick could be considered a lotto pick if this happens. The NBA announced that this year so teams would have time to prepare.

A little bit confused. What do you mean by a lotto pick for a top 28 pick? Do you mean all the high school kids will declare early before the new cba, so there will be a surplus of top talent?

So to use an example, let’s say the NBA implements the change for the 2021 season. That means the 2022 NBA draft would have the talent pools for both the 2021 HS class, who would be the last 1 and dons crew, and the 2022 HS class. To Jeremiah’s point, if those classes are deep, there could be lotto level talent into the 20s of the 1st round

DOUBLE THE DECLARATIONS DOUBLE THE TALENT I would also bet there will be more talent in the 2020 pool too with guys reclassifying to get ahead of a massive class if it is 2021/2022

What George said In the first few years after this happens, if it even does happen, there will likely be a lot of HS guys to enter into the NBA draft. But, most of those guys will see that they end up in the G-League or on the end of the bench and their "advisors" start to tell them to go to college. An interesting twist on this rule would be if the NBA borrows from the MLB and implements their rules, where you can enter the pro draft after HS, after 2 (maybe 1?) years at a junior college, or after 3 at an NCAA school. With all this being said, 2021/22 is a long ways away, and there is this thing called the Historical Basketball League that should be up and running next summer that will pay $50k to these kids to skip college athletics to play in a club/intramural league. Latest on this from Adam Silver and Michelle Roberts, the NBAPA head, yesterday at the NBA Board of Governors meeting: One and Done likely to go away with the 2021 draft to be the “double talent” draft with the 2020 guys as the last One and Done group and the 2021 guys a straight from HS class.

More draft news: NBA and NBPA still negotiating towards a 2022 draft date to end one and done rule. So far the biggest two hurdles to finalizing it have been the NBA’s demand all draft invites to the NBA combine show up for medicals and measurements at minimum; participation in drills won’t be compulsory, but teams are pushing— and agents resisting— that baseline medical information is needed.
To be frank, I don’t get why this would be a dealbreaker for the Union; every other league has this requirement for their draftees, as medicals are a pre-requisite. I get it’s agent shell games, but if you avoid medicals you could end up like Isiah Austin years ago where the medical screening saved his life
