It's mock season.
1. San Antonio Spurs: Luka Doncic
The Spurs won the lottery and have only one player with actual value on their team in Horford. While his spot on the roster shouldn't stop him from drafting a center if he chooses to, he can draft Luka, trade Horford and then tank pretty hard next year to add to this seasons rookie haul.
2. Detroit Pistons: DeAndre Ayton
Ghaz got his team and it was in shambles after a Vlade chop up job. So I don't know if we've ever seen him draft before in a high spot (on phone can't really look it up). Anyways he takes what many consider the top pick in the draft. I don't think this would be the right choice but despite my criticism of him he's got loads of potential and isn't a terrible pick by any means.
3. New Orleans Pelicans: Jaren Jackson Jr.
Jaren is basically 1b to Doncic's 1a on my board and I think Scal can use every bit of his sky high potential on his team.
4. Phoenix Suns: Mohammed Bamba
Honestly not sure what Jared will be thinking here. He could go Bagley but I think Bamba is weird enough and has more upside than Bagley and honestly if your gonna shoot for the moon and screw up it's better to do it at the beginning of a rebuild than towards the end.
5. Washington Wizards: Marvin Bagley
He's good, he's athletic he's a player with a pulse, basically the only requirement to be on a team that got ravaged as hard as this before their current GM took over. Luckily they get a player with decent upside for their troubles.
6. Charlotte Hornets: Wendell Carter Jr.
Back to back Duke boys. Charlotte has one spot on their roster that could stand to be lowered before the start of next season and that's Noel. He drafts his albeit less defensive replacement.
7. Brooklyn Nets: Michael Porter Jr.
People love him for some stupid reason. If the Cavs take him in real life I'm done with them till the next GM. But he was an RSCi top recriut and that's important to people for some reason.
8. Utah Jazz: Trae Young
Utah is trying to move Fultz, I think he takes Trae here.
9. Atlanta Hawks: Lonnie Walker IV
I think he goes SG to pair with one of his 45 point guards. Could go basically any direction but PG here and I wouldn't be surprised though.
10. Philadelphia 76ers: Miles Bridges
Gets a solid wing prospect in exchange for his really down year.
11. Indiana Pacers: Mikal Bridges
Just seems like a Larry style pick IDK why. People seem to really like him, I'm not that high on him as some (I've seen as high as 4th on boards) but he's OK.
12. San Antonio Spurs: Shai Gilgeous Alexander
The Spurs really won this draft so far with getting the #1 and pairing it with another lotto pick. In my mind they win the entire draft if they get who I consider to be the best guard prospect in the draft.
13. Los Angeles Lakers: Kevin Knox
He's a surprisingly young prospect, that could mean he's capable of much more than we've seen and he's not as much of a risk as other prospects at this spot in my opinion.
14. New York Knicks: Troy Brown
Good wing prospect to pair with his weird collect of wait and see prospects.
15. Boston Celtics: Collin Sexton
Ian selects another bust point guard as is draft tradition. Just kidding. I do think Sexton is the weaker of the 3 top point men but some people are WAY high on him. I've seen him as high as 6th. Now I think that person was probably on meth and percosets but still their opinion did happen. If Ian hits on a point guard or wing/4 in this draft we're all gonna be hurting for a while.
