Not a lot of quotes and I only really have my lotto mock I posted and that was BS and since I got a new computer I can't look up my old big board.
1. Memphis Grizzlies - Karl-Anthony Towns - A+
He was the consensus #1 pick. The only thing to do in that situation is not fuck it up. I really like Kristaaps but I'm happy with the outcome. I got the best player in the spot in the draft where there are few excuses not to.
2. Washington Wizards - D'Angelo Russell - B-
There was a HUGE overhype of a guy who was mostly skill based but wasn't actually that skilled, however bonus points for not taking Okafor. In 3 years he's managed to not markedly improve in any area and is pretty much a chucker.
3. Minnesota Timberwolves (ORL) - Jahlil Okafor- F
I hated Okafor, but I never wish ill on another GM with their draft pick because that's bad mojo. I thought he'd be a big David West type without the edge. Holy crap is he bad, I couldn't have predicted him being a complete 0 on defense and not starting on one of the worst teams in the NBA at least, instead he's losing minutes to Jarrett Allen and Quincy Acy.
4. Utah Jazz (BOS) - Justise Winslow- D
Good defender who got off to a rough start last year before going down with a season ending injury. I'm not sure how he'll turn out but after 60 games this year he's still a net negative because his offense is so inefficient. This is a guy I sorta liked but jeeze. It goes to show that picking guys who sorta do everything pretty well without having anything that's truly elite to shine through can be a negative for prospects.
5. Utah Jazz (NYK) - Emmanuel Mudiay- D+
Gets the + because he at least has SOME value but he's another guy who just can't shoot and you can't have that in the NBA unless you do something else so much better that it's able to contribute to winning.
6. Cleveland Cavaliers - Kristaps Porzingis- A+
I wonder if Hana had any of the above players rated over Kristaps, if so he got lucky with this pick. The unicorn suffered a season ending injury but he's good and I think he'll be fine. Overall grabbing the 2nd best player in a draft at 5 is a pretty good haul.
7. Atlanta Hawks - Mario Hezonja- C+
Currently in the midst of his best season as a pro, he came in with this reputation as a decent offensive prospect but it's been his defense that's been positive. If he can get that 3 point shot up a bit he'll be a really valuable player and Magic Coaches have talked his improvement up this season. In a contract year, it'll be interesting to see what happens.
8. New Orleans Pelicans - Stanley Johnson- C-
WTF is going on in Detroit? 36% FG WTF is that? I offered to trade for him so many times his rookie season. I'm glad those got rebuffed.
9. Boston Celtics (SAS) - Jerian Grant- B
It's looking like this whole draft after Towns and Kristaps is one giant let down. So getting a decent backup PG at 9th seems like a win in my book.
10. Minnesota Timberwolves (UTA) - Willie Cauley-Stein- B+
Averaging over 10ppg which is the only player outside of Towns, Russell, and Kristaps in the top 10 to be doing so this season. Being forced to take way too much burden on offense can only be good for his development. He'll be a great option in the future.
11. New York Knicks (PHX) - Frank Kaminsky- B
Do it all PF on offense, bit of a schlub on defense. He's probably not got much hope on that end but if he keeps up the great 3 point shooting he'll have a role on any team, and in this draft it's looking like that's all you can hope for.
12. New Orleans Pelicans (DET) - Myles Turner- A
Starter and incredibly important contributor on a surprise 5th seeded Pacers team. I'll be honest I had him below Trey Lyles on my board so I'm glad I wasn't picking in this range.
13. Los Angeles Lakers - Kelly Oubre- B+
A bit outshone by Myles right ahead of him Oubre is no slouch. Has a role for a legit team and is doing his best with it. Kinda shakey FG% but hey what do you want at 13?
14. Sacramento Kings - Trey Lyles- B
Got a breath of fresh air in Denver and it seems like decent guard play plus occasionally playing opposite of Jokic has been great for Lyles. He kinda sucked in Utah but since arriving in Denver he's shown he's got potential particularly on the offensive end.
15. New Orleans Pelicans (CHA) - Rondae Hollis-Jefferson- B
REALLY bad 3pt shooter for a SF but he's doing enough things to get playing time. Hope he puts it together.
16. Boston Celtics (BKN) - Sam Dekker- D+
He doesn't get an F cause the jury is still out on him. I thought a lot of his chance to contribute was tied to his 2P% staying high like it was in college because he did a lot of creating for himself in college which I liked. BUT as we know he had a season ending injury the first year so in reality we aren't judging him fairly against other prospects development. We'll see what happens.
17. Philadelphia 76ers - Cameron Payne- C
Since arriving in Chicago he's played really well actually, since OKC is apparently allergic to developing prospects since Brooks I think it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. There's a lot of guards in Chicago tho.
18. Utah Jazz (TOR) - Justin Anderson- C-
Operates like some sort of offensive spark plug but he's not really that good on offense so I'm not sure why he's shooting so much. I honestly don't know much about this kid, reportedly was just a super smart player at Virginia, idk if that's gonna keep him in the league though.
19. Minnesota Timberwolves - Devin Booker- A
The A rating is for where he was drafted more than my opinion of him as a player. He's a REALLLYY kick ass shooter. And there is a long list of really kick ass shooters who mostly did nothing but that who are great Reggie Miller (except at commentating), Kyle Korver, JJ Reddick and the like. You can talk shit about his efficiency but at 19 attempts a game you have to ask if he had another guy on the team who he could eliminate 2 bad shots a game by passing to how much better could it be. His passing has impressed me this season and despite a little improvement on rebounding he's still allergic to contributing on defense despite being agile enough to stay with most guys. However, first 3 years from a 19 pick in the draft you'd be hard pressed to truly complain. For the record I was sorta right and sorta wrong. I thought he'd make some 3s and suck on D but I never thought he'd take on this much of a teams offense no matter how bad that team is.
20. Indiana Pacers - Bobby Portis- B+
Outside of hating Nikola Mirotic (I do too) Portis is quietly shooting threes at a decent percentage and playing good offense overall. Kinda a let down that his rim protection is non existent but hey beggars can't be choosers this late in the draft.
21. Houston Rockets - R. J. Hunter- D+
I thought he was booted out of the league last season but turns out he played a few games for Houston this year. Upon looking into it he's actually killing it in the G League right now, 45 games, 20+ ppg, great assist and steal numbers compared to most SGs in the G league. He'll either be one of those guys that goes over and dominates in Europe or China or randomly reappears in the NBA next season as a decent role player.
22. Denver Nuggets - Delon Wright- B-
Decent back up.
23. Portland Trail Blazers - Rashad Vaughn- F
Kinda a blah prospect and a what the heck kinda hope for the best based on measurables draft pick here it seems. Just didn't turn into anything great.
24. LA Clippers - Tyus Jones- B-
I hated this stupid little midget as a prospect but what the heck he's doing pretty damn well in a back up role.
25. Oklahoma City Thunder - Terry Rozier- B
Really impressed with his development in Boston.
26. Boston Celtics (CHI) - Montrezl Harrell- A-
A rating comes from where he's been picked. Big angry dude who's really good at being big and angry. Playing pretty well for Clippers.
27. Atlanta Hawks (MIA) - Kevon Looney- C
Playing well in extremely limited role with GSW.
28. Utah Jazz (MIL) - Cliff Alexander* - F
Not in NBA.
29. Los Angeles Lakers (DAL) - Chris McCullough- D
Bench warmer
30. Memphis Grizzlies (GSW) - Nikola Milutinov - F
Thought he was the most intriguing prospect after Porzingis and Hezonja. The Spurs thought so too but they actually rescinded his rights to avoid a cap hold I think so that wasn't the best idea given a few guys behind him have been decent.

##. Team Name - Player Picked
31. Golden State Warriors (MEM) - Josh Richardson - A
Really good player for Miami. Great find here.
32. New York Knicks (BOS) - Cedi Osman - B+
Pretty good backup
33. San Antonio Spurs (ORL) - Larry Nance, Jr. - B+
Pre-draft injury concerns derailed his draft stock but he's good.
58. Minnesota Timberwolves (MIL) - Norman Powell - A
Pretty decent role player found at the ass end of the draft. Great pick.
Everyone else kinda sucked.
