Utah Jazz Trade:
68 Ivica Zubac $725,000 $888,400
Minnesota Timberwolves Trade:
69 Brice Johnson $725,000 $888,400
2018 Minnesota 2nd Round Draft Pick
I accept. 2nd round draft picks can be hidden gems as sometimes GMs may find superstars such as Draymond Green and Goran Dragic late in the draft. Brice Johnson is a better version of Jordan Mickey, who will be released if this trade goes through.

I accept this trade. Everyone should know by now, I NEVER trade away draft picks before the draft. This is a 2nd, so it makes it easier to swallow. I am a Zubac fan, which is why I was convinced to move a pick, since I'll also have his BRs. Johnson had to be included for salary purposes, but has some small upside, feel like he hasn't gotten a fair shake anywhere in the NBA yet.

How many second round picks make it in the NBA? You're trading a 20 year old who gets okay playing time in the NBA on a young team for a really really late second... Don't think this is smart at all for Utah.

I get that Zubac is a more exciting prospect but I don't think there's enough here to reject. I accept.

This is silly, allowing Walt to get Zubac from a new GM basically for free because Brand didn’t bother to google him. Zubac is probably worth a late 1st at least. Well done Walt.

I wish there was more wrong with the trade so I could justify a reject, but there just isn't at the moment.
Accept.

It doesn't matter anymore, but I'll put in a reject. These are the kind of deals I think new GMs need to avoid. The really bad deals aren't that big of a problem, they're unlikely to be accepted, and likely to be rejected. It's this kind of deal that's borderline that is a bigger issue. Utah can't really afford to lose 3 or 4 trades of these borderline trades in a row. The team is not in a good place as it is. The odds of drafting a player better than Zubac with a second round pick is almost zero.

That deadlocks us at 2accepts - 2rejects.
But I'm going to change my vote to a reject. Alex English is correct in his assessment.

Oops my mistake! In that case I guess we're deadlocked at 2-2 and it goes to GMs! GMs of D5! Please give your verdict on this trade!

In all honesty, I think it's goofy that sometimes, this would have been 3 accepts and processed. It really should have been. But this time, it goes from 3 accepts to a league vote because of a commish error? Ian, you're human I don't mind that you make a minor mistake, but I think it's pretty goofy. This had 3 accepts and should have been processed before Alex even spoke Edit: Also, Ian Noble, you should probably move this out of rejected trades for now.

Don't know if I follow what you mean? Chronologically, the trade had three except first. So it should have passed already, right?

Accept..
Zubac's potential is a lite version of Gortat?
the 2nd round potential is, basically an 85 rated player. Yeah yeah.
The chance is low but, those TANKERS better not dare to answer that back to me.. Tsk.

The chronological order in which the TC votes occurred went a bit skewy, is what I'm trying to say: After Alex posted I thought it was a 2-2 situation and decided to change my vote to a reject, then moved the trade to the reject pile. Turns out I read it wrong, it was a 3-1 accept situation, and it was my changed vote that instead made it a 2-2 tie.

I'm on the fence, I think Walt gets an absolute steal getting zubac for free. This trade is bad for Utah but idk if it's bad wnough to reject. I would like to hear a little more from Elton before I decide

I know there are steals in the 2nd round. Draymond and Jokic are good examples. But Hana basically said that since there have been 3 guys drafted in the 2nd round that are about 85 overalls, then that's how the pick should be valued in this trade. The odds of a late 2nd even getting a guy who will play multiple seasons at 15 MPG is highly unlikely.

I totally agree with what you're saying, I was just saying if he doesn't believe in Zubac I'm not sure his value is definitely a 1st rounder. A 2nd with another young late-1st round player (Brice IRL) isn't terrible value IMHO.
