I accept. This is a heavy price to pay for just getting one year of salary relief as the Detroit pick will be 31 or 32 and the Indy 2nd is also likely top 40. Nonetheless I have big plans this offseason and need the cap space. I still have 6 other draft picks this year so I can afford this. These next few months will be crucial for our franchise.

I accept. I get the two picks Brian mentioned. There are a lot of teams who will have cap this offseason. I think waiting for next season to try to look into free agency wouldn’t be a bad thing. I can’t really be a player in free agent for three years when Harkless and Parsons’s come off my books. Those two draft picks could land me a good player or two to add to Portis, Allen, and Mason.

I'm going to accept. Larry seems to have a plan right now and this fits into it. He's just delaying FA bidding by one or two years, which, the way things are going in this league, he could be one of the only teams with cap space at that time if he plays it right.
Accept, nice trade guys.

Nice move for Indiana.
Another sell-off by the Pelicans. I think Brian is a good GM and he has stockpiled a lot of picks but his player base is looking really weak. Outside of Hayward, there’s really not 1 legit guy left on the roster, which is crazy because the Pelicans have never made the playoffs in D5, so you would expect them to have some nice young pieces. I guess Brian’s plan is to tank like hell and then try to combine a top draft pick with some free agents for a quick turnaround... but there’s just not really any good free agents. What is an ideal OSFA for the Pelicans? Max contracts to Whiteside/DeAndre and Jrue Holiday?
Gordon Hayward has a P.O. after next year and, as stated above, has only experienced losing in his entire D5 career. And Hayward left a successful Jazz team in real life. Even if the Pelicans sign two free agents and sneak in as the 8 seed, is there any chance in hell that Hayward stays? If this boat doesn’t get turned around extremely quickly, the Pelicans are really going to have a sticky situation on their hands.
