Welcome Tony!
With this signing, our bench now looks like this:
Darren Collison - Tony Allen - Wilson Chandler - Taj Gibson
Skal Labissiere - Kris Dunn - Justin Patton
We feel prepared to return to the playoffs in the Western Conference and feel we are even more prepared and have a better bench than last year, all things considered. We're also excited about our youth and the future of this franchise as, in addition to Skal/Dunn/Patton, we have our 2nd round picks we are very excited about - Frank Jackson, Edmond Sumner, and Dillon Brooks!
As for Tony, the defense he brings to the team is invaluable. While we love CJ McCollum and all he's brought to our team, he is not the strongest defender. Having Tony available to lock down the other teams best guards in the crucial moments of a game could be the difference for us. Imagine a lineup with Bledsoe-McCollum-Allen-Crowder-Capela! That keeps everything spread out with shooting but also locks down the perimeter and the interior.
We also feel as prepared as possible for any injuries that could occur to our team, and really look forward to competing at the highest level in this league in 2017-18.
Welcome Tony! Let's go do this!
