Jae Crowder - Minnesota TimberwolvesJae Crowder has decided to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves on a four-year deal. Jae received interest from numerous teams, but at the end of the day only Walt Frazier and the Timberwolves put in proper effort that a free-agent of Jae's caliber deserves (other teams were noncommittal or were moreso "wait and see" offers). We understand that Jae may receive more offers after Paul George signs, but Jae decided that if a team has not put in the appropriate effort over the past 2 weeks, then it is simply impossible to sway Crowder away from the Timberwolves. Jae is excited to return to Minnesota and compete for a trip to the finals. The Timberwolves have inked Jae to a 4 year, ~$99m contract as follows: Year 1: $24,773,250 Year 2: $22,915,256 Year 3: $24,773,250 Year 4: $26,631,243

That's a fair enough reason. Whats with the weird wiggle in contract value the 2nd year?

That's a fair enough reason. Whats with the weird wiggle in contract value the 2nd year? Jae would seem to want to allow his team to spend a little extra next year before fully going over the cap until forever after that. Especially on the chance that Bledsoe opts out. Let's me put as good of a longterm team around him and the rest of the bros as possible.
