Harrison Barnes - Los Angeles LakersHarrison Barnes has decided to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers for a full 5-year max contract: Year 1: $24,750,000 Year 2: $26,606,250 Year 3: $28,462,500 Year 4: $30,318,750 Year 5: $32,175,000 Magic Johnson and the Lakers came out and offered a full max to Barnes right at the start of free agency. Barnes has enjoyed his time in Los Angeles, is on bird rights, and was ecstatic with the offer. We did not see the need to wait around, and agreed to Magic's offer within a few days. We were originally waiting to post in order to maximize the cap space of LAL, but I am posting this now as it seems Ian is not adding BRs signings to count against the cap until after FA is over.

I still think they should not be allowed to add like 5 FA without that BR hitting.

I still think they should not be allowed to add like 5 FA without that BR hitting. I only posted this with the understanding that it wouldn't count against his cap. Otherwise I could just wait another week to post. Besides, we just had an enormous discussion in the other thread about whether Durant should have signed to Minnesota or not. Following your rules, Capela should count against Walt's cap and he shouldn't have even been able to offer.

For the record, I drafted Harrison Barnes as well!

What's the difference if they announce or not? So we have them not announce, their cap hold still sits on the books and the PAs tell everyone to go away. All your doing by announcing is saving everyone time.
