Charlotte Hornets
Charlotte Sends:
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope $2,001,290 Charlotte Receives:2018 DAL 1st Rounder 2018 ATL 2nd Rounder Salary before: $73,456,086 Salary after: $71,454,796 Sacramento Kings
Sacramento sends:
2018 DAL 1st Rounder 2018 ATL 2nd Rounder Sacramento receives: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope $2,001,290 Salary before: $46,696,837 Salary after: $48,698,127
As GM of the Charlotte Hornets, we accept. We love KCP, felt that he fit in to our culture really well here, but this is a cap-space saving move for this off-season, and for the next off-season, where we may have had to dish out two max contracts to retain both Noel and KCP. KCP was the 8th overall pick, so it's highly unlikely that either of these picks will amount to players of similar caliber, but this is ultimately best for the financial situation of the team. Kings get a nice defensive minded SG that should pair up excellently next to Lillard, and get his BRs as well.

I accept as long as I get BRs. I think with KCP leaving Detroit irl he'll be able to really shine. Even with his inconsistency, I'm willing to gamble on him. I think this is a win-win. I bring in another good player to convince other free agents to join my squad, and Charlotte frees up cap space to land whatever free agent he's pursuing.

I feel like giving up a lotto pick is a lot for KCP. But maybe I'm just super low on a guy who doesn't shoot 40% from the field and not over 35% from three. And doesn't have a team in real life to properly feel out his role.

I saw your first post before you deleted it and just wanted to say that there has been nothing of that sort of communication with me. I've simply been ready to move KCP for a week or two after considering the future cap implications and when Chauncey approached me about him I pulled the trigger - doesn't hurt to increase my cap either.

I just wanted proof when it happens that's all. I took my snap and will save it until the day comes. You have no control James, you are just a pawn in the game. That Dallas pick could be gold depending on who he signs this off season.

It's really sad that instead of focusing on improving your shitty teams, you both troll like little children.

James was pressuring me heavy to trade for Pope, I think that Dallas is in the lotto again but not inside the top 10 unless he gets really lucky. ATL 2018 is likely 30-35. Honestly kind of puzzling that Sac gives up a lottery pick but KCP before this season WAS considered to be a pretty damn good prospect and if he bounces back in a big way it could make James look dumb given this next years class at least now not appearing very deep. Overall I think James wins the trade but not like "OOOOOH you just got fucked" level we've seen in the past.

This has shades of Tracey McGrady to it.

It's really sad that instead of focusing on improving your shitty teams, you both troll like little children. Not trolling at al. Have seen this too many times where someone trades a first of team that is on the decline. The mavs are in a hard conference with a sub par team. Apparently, giving your opinion is Not allowed. It is pretty apparent that I am not the only one thinking you lose this trade, so there is that. Pope is decent and will get s good contract, but I value that Dallas pick a lot more.

I like this a lot for Sacramento. He got Lillard back and now he is filling out his lineup. Lillard-KCP-Porter-Len is a great young core, and I'm sure Chauncey is hunting around for another big man.
