Mo Harkless is excited to sign a three-year contract with the Indiana Pacers. Larry Bird reached out on the very first day of free agency expressing his interest in Harkless. Larry is anticipating that Mo can come in and be the starting small forward for the Pacers, which was by far the most enticing opportunity we were presented with throughout free agency (note this is not a promise). Larry impressed Mo with his discussion over his play-style, as well as how he believes Mo will fit in with the team.

The terms of the deal are for the full MLE, with increases of the league minimum rather than 7.5%, as it is higher:

Year 1: $8,406,000
Year 2: $9,221,615
Year 3: $10,037,230

There were a couple of players we wanted to add. Being young enough to be part of a rebuild, but with enough experience they could help lead the rebuild. Mo Harkless was one of those players and we are glad he decided to bring his talents to Indiana. We look forward to Mo coming onto our team and providing his skills in strengthening our starting lineup. We were in communication with Mo from the beginning and are glad he chose our team.
