This trade works under the percentage rule.
OKC takes on the bad contract of Brandon Knight and is taking a huge risk that he does not get traded away. On the other side, this gives OKC an actual young starting point guard that still has some potential if a trade does occur. OKC does understand that Knight is being lowered in rating from his current rating as well. We also receive Nick Young for bench purposes. Washington receives two role players with smaller contracts that can eventually be traded away for more meaningful rebuilding assets.
