Phoenix Suns trade:80 Tobias Harris - $22,250,000 - $24,697,500 - $27,414,225 - $30,429,790 - $33,299,890 Denver Nuggets trade:78 Luol Deng - $11,230,591 - $12,465,956 - $13,837,211 76 Greivis Vasquez - $8,010,000 - $7,128,900 - $6,344,72169 Alex Abrines - $562,800 - $725,000 - $888,400Randy Foye's contract - $4,007,336 - $4,514,672 - $5,022,008 DEN 2018 1st round pick Total: $23,810,727
I accept. I do a few things I need to accomplish with this trade. Most importantly, I get a starter fifth starter to fill out my lineup, but I also clear out some roster spots which I will need for the draft and an MLE signing, plus I do it without taking on any additional salary for next year which is important as I'll be pressed right up against the hard cap. As for Harris' giant contract which will only get worse as the hard cap gets lower, well that's a problem for another day. This makes me a better team for another attempt at a championship next year.

I think Alex wins this deal because there's no chance his 1st Rounder next year is a high pick.
That being said Phoenix needs to tank it up next season and it helps them do that, Deng and Vasquez might not be in the league before their contracts end so the salary hit isn't so bad, overall it's not bad enough to reject.
I accept.

I think Alex wins this by a large amount. A soon to be 25 year old on a team where contracts don't "really" matter.

stock watch the fuck outta tobias he isnt an 80 Yes he definitely is. 16 and 5 in 31 mins on 48% shooting, 35% from deep, 84% from the line. Top 50 in the NBA in Win Shares and VORP. Positive on all advanced defensive stats except for DRPM (where he measures in at -0.26). If anything, he needs a small increase, but I think he's fine where he is. What the hell is an 80 if that's not it? Do you have to be a 20-5-5 borderline All-Star to get an 80 in your book?

You gotta put up more than 16 and 5 lol No you don't. These aren't Basketball-GM ratings. There, yea an 80 is extremely rare. Here, I'd say an average starter quality player has always been our benchmark for an 80+ rating. I'd guess there are 80-100 players in D5 rated at 80 or higher. Tobias deserves to be in that group for sure imo.

Because to me I see guys that are "average" and similar to TH getting rated between 77-79 all the time, which is where I'd vote him.

As for the rest, you're not entirely wrong, I think there is some resistance in the stock watch section to give a guy an 80 (or a 90). I'd say it's way easier to move from a 78 rating to a 79 rating than to go from a 79 to an 80. There seems to be an enormous number of players rated as a 78 or 79. The reluctance to give a guy an 80 probably has something to do with that.

He's not winning by too much. Harris hurts me more than he helps me so this is a one mans trash is another mans treasure type thing. That first next year is going to be 27-30 but I dont mind because trading Harris makes my pick top 4 guaranteed. Abrines is still young as well and played 68 games in OKC

Montini wants to tank, I get it. Tobias isn't helping him THAT much but he does get worse players and if Abrines turns into anything, he gets BR's on him and gets a 1st in addition, albeit a very late first.
In order to get worse, he eats up $25+ million in contracts of Deng, $7+ million of Greivis, and $9.5+ million for Foye's contract over the next 2 years, money he can't spend. All told, this coming offseason, he actually loses $137,028 to spend, and eats up some roster spots, but next offseason he gains $8,555,006 to spend, with only Deng left on the books at that point.
I guess I have no real problem with Montini's side of this, but I feel like Alex makes out more than Montini does. Different situations of course, but Alex consolidates roster spots while also ridding himself of 3 pieces no one really wants aside from salary purposes (Deng/Vasquez/Foye's Contract) all for the low cost of one of the last few picks in the draft next year and Alex Abrines. He also improves his starting lineup.
Not enough here to reject, but good job Alex, once again. I wish Montini well, but I feel like he could have found a way to make a slightly better deal. Delon Wright? Juan Hernangomez? I hope you at least pushed for one of those guys, but obviously we'll never know now.
GL to both, I'd have accepted b/c there's not enough to reject, but Alex wins this more than Jared does, even though it's not really bad for either guy.
