Welcome to the 2017 Dynasty Five Rookie Draft! Please read the Rules & Info below. The draft will begin as soon as the first pick is made. There is no time limit on making your pick until the start of the real NBA Draft June 22nd.

Rules & Info:

Pick from the list of Available Rookies (TBC June 22nd).

After June 22nd the top 5 picks have 2 days to make their pick. First Round picks have 12 hours to be picked. Second Round picks have 6 hour slots that are allotted when the Round begins.

The rights to undrafted rookies, who declared for this year's draft, can also be claimed during the Rookie Draft. An undrafted rookie will remain as "draft rights held" status on your team salaries until they play in the NBA.

Until the June 22nd NBA Draft there is no time limit on picks but only the Top 10 rookies may be picked.

If a draftee withdraws from the draft and has been picked here at D5 before June 22nd that pick will need to be chosen again, but choice is limited to those players who have not yet been picked (Note: Draftees from the NCAA can no longer withdraw, but international draftees have until 10 days before the NBA Draft - GMs may wish to wait to make their pick for this reason).

If you miss your pick, a random pick may be made for you up to 5 spots further down from where your team is picking. You may change the player that was picked for you at a later time in the draft, but only if the player you'd rather pick has not been taken by other teams.

Submit draft boards to Ian Noble if you're worried about missing your pick.

I just wanna know if you felt that three of those players can potentially be top 10 players of this draft? Because, I did!

Yes! But since I have a pick in that range I'm saying nothing.

It depends what happens in real life though.

IRL I had Jerami Grant and Montrezl Harrell as two mid-1st-rounders. They got picked early 2nd Round so I could wait and use my pick on them later.

Alternatively I thought Ben McLemore was Ray Allen 2.0, lol.

He's out of Sacramento so there is hope. 

The hope that he's leaving Sacramento is the only reason I extended a QO this year (before we scrapped the RFA system).

I just read this article and comes with the one liner: "Sacramento is notorious for stunting the growth of their draftees and not maximizing their potential."

Ian, as Lavar Ball, I'd like to officially move the Hawks to LA to play at the Staples Center.  The Lakers and Clippers will of course need to vacate the stadium immediately or be faced with severe consequences (which will include but not be limited to being labeled as NOT a Big Baller™).

Anyone who takes issue with these changes are free to 1v1 me on the basketball court.

The only reason Jackson wasn't part of the discussion in Boston was because he messed Danny Ainge around and refused to try out for the Celtics, even made Ainge and Stevens fly all the way to Sacramento before cancelling. If he had not have done that - would Josh Jackson be a Celtic right now? It's possible.

But stiffing the Celtics brass was another one of Jackson's personality red-flags. Jayson Tatum has a good personality and is going to a Celtics team where he will encounter the work ethics of that team, it's a much better situation in terms of development, and it's a much better situation in terms of visibility and fame and success.

On the other hand Josh Jackson has that ultra-aggressive, blindly-arrogant streak that Russell Westbrook has, and whilst that can be destructive it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Jackson is a quick-twitch, explosive, aggressive, defensive wing who might develop a jump shot, might take over in Phoenix this year and be a franchise player. Tatum is a smooth playing, offensively crafty wing who might fill out into his shoulders like Anthony Davis did and also be a franchise player in a few years time when he finally gets the minutes.

What was once the easiest choice to make in this draft has become the most difficult!

To be honest I've been trying to target Isaiah Thomas as a trade target with this pick, not so that I can keep Thomas but because there's one other player I could probably get if I traded Thomas on, but JR Wiles is a tough nut to crack - if anyone can help me get IT, let me know
