Denver Nuggets trade:
74 Jordan Hamilton - $1,073,280 -$1,121,520 - $1,169,880 - $2,109,294 - $3,113,317
Los Angeles Lakers trade:
70 Dahntay Jones - $2,700,000 - $2,900,000 LAL 2013 1st round pick
I have the cap space for this trade.
I accept.

I accept, D. Jones isn't really that good, and with HOU 2012 1st rd. pick still with me my team should be much stronger next year and I still have KB, Drew, Lowry, and Barg so I should still have high playoff spot.
J. Hamilton could be pretty good pending he gets playing time with DEN (Real Life), he's a scorer with a nice all around game.
But most importantly I am sick and tired of seeing L. Kleiza highjack my SF spot and keep giving me losses.
so bye bye Kleiza from starting lineup forever.

Hmm, gotta think about this.
Hamilton, by my eyes, is a SF, maybe SG type of guy...maybe, maybe, maybe undersized PF if they go small here and there, but mostly SF...maybe SG for his scoring.
So, he's behind Gallinari (signed to a huge long-term extension, 3 or 4 more years) He's behind Wilson Chandler (signed to a 4 or 5 year extension, pretty good money) He's possibly behind Corey Brewer, who's a solid energy/defense guy that teams like to bring off the bench. Nuggets got Quincy Miller, who would very possibly/likely have been a lotto pick if he would have stayed in school another year (he just got back to full strength from an ACL injury, very much a steal that late, although this was a great draft)
Those are just the SF's, couple of which could be SG types, like Hamilton.
At SG, Nuggets have Iggy now, so he's gonna take 35 mpg...and oh yea, the Nuggets sometimes play Lawson and Andre Miller together, at which point Iggy probably slides over and takes some SF minutes away here and there as well.
Nuggets also drafted Evan Fournier at the 20th pick this year. He's a SG maybe SF type, high upside. He might go to the D-League, don't know yet, but long-term, he's ahead of Hamilton as well.
Faried is locked into PF, and as I said, sometimes the nuggets go small, shifting iggy to SF, and probably could have guys like Wilson Chandler or Gallinari play some PF, which both guys have done some before in New York.
And at backup PF we've got the ever-talented but always a question mark Anthony Randolph now.
My biggest point here, is Hamilton has almost no shot to be anything significant IRL.
Your 2013 pick is a question mark too, and I know people have their own opinions on players, but I don't see Hamilton even having a shot to prove himself really. Super, super buried in Denver, and they have guys signed to bigger, long contracts that will be there just as long as Hamilton (if they even pick up his option years).
Seems like a throw-away of that pick, don't like that.

You make all good points, Walt, but does real life matter if you're simming in a game where you can start Hamilton and get the most out of him in the game? I don't think being buried on the Denver bench in real life effects his playing in a video game. Maybe ratings? Idk...

I agree in a way about players in sim games vs. IRL. I don't think real life issues should stop a trade here. Only if a player has been an all-star caliber player or better. Plus some players that play behind nba starters are still decent. If a player has Ever played in an nba game that means they can ball. If you make it to any NBA team you don't suck...you just may not be good enough other than the practice squad....

We should take into account real life. A player's ratings will only be improved in D5 if that player performs better in the NBA.
Walt correctly points out that Hamilton is buried deep in Denver's rotation, there's no real reason to suspect he's going to break out or show us he has more potential than we imagined, so why trade a 1st Rounder for him?

I don't want Kleiza in starting lineup, I want Korver, but game will just reset itself and put Korver on bench, so need someone at starting SF. 2. Every trade offer that I go with it's all LOWBALLS where I have to overpay all of them, and I am not gonna concede from my end unless I get fair deal.

I never really figured this trade would stir up controversy. This is the Lakers pick we are talking about, it will be in the late 20s so how much is it really worth?

Ok, so I'm going to go ahead an accept this. I do think giving up the 1st rounder is a tad too much but not enough to reject the deal.

Simple fact - Dahntay Jones is a more useful player than Hamilton is, and with the super limited chances Hamilton is going to get, Dahntay is probably worth more overall (even including "potential" on Hamilton). The 1st is just overkill.
I commend the Nuggets for trying to get a free 1st, but as a CM I can't accept it.
I'm just one vote though.

I accept, IMO you guys are putting too much stock into this first rounder.

Cool 3 accepts. Now I just hope Dahntay Jones will decline his player option.

The way LAL is trading I get the feeling that 2013 pick will be a bit higher than the Trade Committee are saying.
I would reject but it's already passed.
Trade passed.
