Also scores more points than Booker more efficiently.

I'm not sure if these threads are "real" or not, but McCollum is a wonderful player. His percentages are just, insane.

Well I gotta give it to him because 23 ppg on percetages of 48 FG%, 42 3P% and 91 FT% is damn good. But.. for all the shit people like to give Harden for his defense, CJ McCollum is actually godawful and we need to talk about it more. Lillard and McCollum make up the worst defensive backcourt in the NBA and it's not even close. Both are terrible and CJ is probably the worse of the two. Every measurement available to track defense shows how awful he is.
113 DRating, 1.7 Defensive Win Shares, -2.2 Defensive Box Score Plus Minus, -1.91 Defensive Real Plus Minus
I challenge anyone to find a worse defensive stat line from a player people consider to be good. Maybe the only player in the league is Devin Booker lol.
That's only one category though, so lower his DAware to down around 50, but there's not much else to do when it comes to this.
He also doesn't really rebound or create for his teammates though, so where do all the points of a high 80s rating go for him?
I'll say 84.

He also doesn't really rebound or create for his teammates though, so where do all the points of a high 80s rating go for him? We all have our own criteria, which is what makes all of this so fun, of course. But around four assists per game from a non point guard (I know he does play point some, but is primarily a shooting guard) is nothing to sneeze at for me. He should get a decent rating on pass, his dribbling should be pretty high, and all told his offensive awareness should be pretty high. Also, while three plus rebounds a game is not amazing, for a small combo guard it's not bad either. Those points will add up a little bit to help him out. Lastly, his shooting should be among the best in our game including his free throws, so that will take up some points. I do need to look at his specific build to see where he has room and what may need fixed up or down, but my 87 rating actually does factor in, for me, his lack of defensive skill in our ratings.

85 seems good. Tough to go higher when he doesn't play defense

85 seems good. Tough to go higher when he doesn't play defense Kevin Love got to and remained at an 89 for quite a while with the "no defense" tag. Love may of course have the Rebounding ratings (and Strength) on CJ but CJ is a better FG / 3PT / FT / Stl / Quick / Speed / Jump and very possibly O-Aware...probably pass is close but I may give CJ the advantage. Anyway, I'm not arguing against the "doesn't play defense" but I'm just curious if an 85 is the new "can't go higher than this w/o defense even if great at a lot of other areas" thing. Just so I know ;-)

I think he's always been overrated. I just don't want to rate these guys like CJ higher than 2 way players such as Gordon Hayward or Klay Thompson

I can't believe he's so good, I never thought he'd amount to much
