Current Rating: 78 Proposed Rating: 83
I know it's early but I think it's obvious Embiid is better than a 78.
He's averaging some of the best big man numbers in the league and he's still on a huge minutes restriction. Also his 3PT skill needs reviewing.
Per Game Stats: 18.0ppg 7.3rpg 2.3bpg 22 minutes per game
Per 36 Minutes Stats: 29.3ppg 11.8rpg 3.7bpg

Jahlil Okafor averaged very similar stats last year and is a 76.
17.5ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.2 bpg
Embiid shows potential, sure, but we don't rate on potential. He is a rookie who has played 10 games in his career and only won 1 of them. No one on the 76ers should be rated above an 80. I think Embiid is fine at 78 for now, I would almost vote to go down to 77.

Hahaha Ian you're a little eager.
Embiid looks sooo promising but it's way way too early.
Honestly if he keeps this up for a whole season id have no qualms voting an 83-84. Even another 6-8 weeks. But this is his rookie year so let's wait a bit

I forget the rule, if I wanna update my vote should I edit it or make a new post?

I forget the rule, if I wanna update my vote should I edit it or make a new post? Best Option - Both. You post new, then go edit your old one and just clear it out, maybe say "updated below". Next Best, just edit the original. Worst, post new and don't edit original.

I think that for a player in Embiid's situation we shouldn't stray too far from +5 because anything could happen this season.I'd say 80 max for now.

He's gonna need a full minutes load before I'm willing to give him a bump or he'll need to keep it up till the all-star break. He's playing like Branden Wright in terms of him being a crazy per 36 minute guy at the moment.
The problem is that you're gonna start him not only play him 13 minutes or whatever he's at right now. Plus his rating is gonna need ALOT of tweaking to get it right simply because upping his 3pt skill is gonna make him wonky as hell.
If we leave him where he is +1 or so to at least add the 3pt shooting real fast I'm ok with it though.

Bumping this, lots of mixed feelings.
Should we touch him or leave him alone?

I vote an 80. Its way too soon for me to go above that.
He is still a rookie, and normally we wouldn't even think about adjusting a rookie's rating until the All-Star break... I don't see why that maxim does not apply in this case. The only thing that I can think of is that most rookies play 12 minutes a night, and the top picks play around what Embiid is playing, but none are usually the focal point of the offense like Embiid is.
Ideally, I'd like to keep this open till February, in case his numbers are to decline and he hits a rookie wall.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's the real deal, its easier for me to say because I wanted him to drop the year you drafted him. His injury risk makes it easier to put him at 82.
