After a lengthy decision making process tied in closely to the Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler decisions, Arron has decided to head West and join Dan Majerle's Phoenix Suns! Contract:
Year 1: $12,500,000 Year 2: $13,000,000 Year 3: $14,224,917 Year 4: $14,856,070 (TO)
Total: $54,580,987
The Bulls had the first and, for a while, strongest, and at times, only offer in on Arron. But, once both Kawhi and Jimmy chose Chicago, Arron knew it was time to go. He still wants to start, which obviously was not happening, and still felt he was very valuable, so a minimal bench role behind these stars was not in the cards for him.
I came Dan Majerle, and a match was evident. Starting position was available, and a solid team is assembled. In fact, the Suns won more games last year in the tough Western Conference than the Bulls did in the Eastern Conference (source: Josh Barber). Sure Kawhi left but clearly there is still talent in Phoenix.
In the end this made the most sense for Arron.
We thank the other bidders and Arron looks forward to playing for the Suns!
