Eric Gordon is excited to announce he will sign with the Houston Rockets for the following contract:
Year 1: $12,000,000 Year 2: $13,100,000 Year 3: $14,500,000 Year 4: $16,000,000
Total: $55,600,000
Eric is very pleased with this contract, and very excited about the direction the Rockets are taking. We feel he'll fit right into this starting lineup:
Ricky Rubio - Eric Gordon - Giannis Antetokounmpo - Kevin Love - Bismack Biyombo
The money was right, and the fit is perfect. Giannis has immense upside, and everyone on this team knows their role. Eric looks forward to bringing the Rockets back to the playoffs with his great teammates!

So he got a longer better deal than he had when he turned his PO down.
Called it.

So he got a longer better deal than he had when he turned his PO down. Called it. This signing is hilarious since Charles Barkley said this when he opted out: Eric Gordon opting out is a TERRIBLE decision. He opt's out for money, that's the reasoning given. He's fucking making 25 million over 2 years. He is not a good player, he won't make that over the next 3 years, if some GM is dumb enough to offer him a 3 year deal. He is always hurt, who knows if he can even play with everything that ails him. So, what do you 5 geniuses do? You have him opt-out, giving up 25 million dollars. Forget the fact that a real agent would tell the client that a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow, and that it is better to have 26 million over 2 years than 28 million over four years, because you can invest that money and make more money off of it sooner. You guys missed this one completely, COMPLETELY. Who in their right mind is giving Eric Gordon a 4 year deal that is fully guaranteed. If he gets anything past 3 years, it is going to be littered with team options, meaning this guy doesn't know if he will be getting paid next year. Dumb dumb dumb on all of the 4 who voted "out" Maybe it was all just a big misdirection? Haha.

Did not bid on Gordon. I don't think he is a 79.

So he got a longer better deal than he had when he turned his PO down. Called it. He makes less money in his first two years in this contract then he had. Everyone knew he would have a longer contract, that wasn't the argument.

But wait, there's more! ...I'd rather spend the 90 million on 3 max guys and cheap role players over paying someone like Eric Gordon 12 million a year... If these guys opt out because they think they are getting more money, they are crazy. The money will go to the big name guys. And if we can't sign one, we wait till next year. Only an idiot is going to spend more money on guys like Gordon ... And we don't have any idiots in this league, wait, yeah we do.

Good sirs, Eric Gordon play for Houston in life of real. He now play for Houston in life of sim. Sense this makes. Super team now assembled. Ricky Rubio, Eric Gordon, Kevin Love, Bismack Biyombo. Free agency class to talk around.
