Dwyane Wade will sign the following contract to return to the Miami Heat:
Year 1: $29,000,000
Year 2: $32,000,000
Year 3: $35,000,000
Year 4: $38,000,000 (Player Option)
Total: $134,000,000
Due to various factors, we ended up with a Final 3 of Miami, Dallas, and Brooklyn. After a good amount of deliberation, we narrowed that to just Miami and Dallas. I could have seen Dwyane signing with any of those 3 teams pretty easily. I was even at one point leaning towards Dallas. But, in the end it was too hard to ignore the fact of Troy's dedication to Dwyane, even after moving the likes of Bosh and LeBron in trades, he has remained committed to Dwyane, and has now made another new team around Dwyane with Mike Conley, Dwight Howard, Steven Adams, and Trevor Ariza. Though not a perfect team, there is opportunity for both stability and growth here, and Troy offered plenty of money after being a bit under market to begin.
Dwyane wants to sincerely thank Danny Longley and Josh Barber for their pursuits, but in the end, Troy Bolton is not Pat Riley. The money in D5 WAS enough to keep Dwyane, while IRL, it was not. It just made the most sense, even if other options would have been stellar as well.
