Like the truehoop article on ESPN stated it would be much closer than most basketball fans think. Even though it is fairly obvious that the 92 team has an advantage with their bigs, I think the advantage for the 2012 team lies with their great versatility.
Also important to know if they would play using FIBA rules or NBA rules. If its FIBA style of basketball I think the '12 team would have a bit more advantage since they are built more for the international game than past US teams. If its general NBA style of play I feel like it would benefit the 92 team due to their size and post ability (3 second rule in the paint hurts post defence).
IMO the 92 team is just slightly better than the '12, if they played 100 games the 92 team would win probably like 55 times.

I think if they played 100 times the Dream Team would win close to 70 games. Lebron, Kobe and Durant are the only players on this year's team capable of making the Dream Team.

2012.
The game has evolved too much. Defensive schemes have gotten more advanced and the level of athleticism is off the charts in the game today, compared to then. There are a couple guys on the 2012 team you could put back in that time period and they would far and away be the best athlete. Training methods have changed and players keep their bodies in better shape these days. 2012 would win by 10.

Of course the 2012 could beat the 1992 team, obviously if they played 100 times then 2012 would beat 1992 a few times.
In terms of player-for-player quality though you cannot beat the 1992 team. The very fact that Kobe's comparing 2012 to the 1992 team shows that 1992 was a benchmark in terms of quality.

Then factor in Malone/Ewing/Robinson would absolutely destroy this this current team down low. Last add in MJ, nobody on this current team can match him, i don't see one man on the current team usa capable of guarding him.

I would love to see how this team does against a healthy Spain. Also I think the 92 Croatia team would be good competition for this current usa team.
