Evan Fournier is proud to announce that he will again come back to the Orlando Magic! The contract will be:
Year 1: $23,535,750 Year 2: $21,203,378 Year 3: $19,102,142 Year 4: $17,209,137 Year 5: $15,503,727 (Player Option)
Total: $96,554,134
In the end, we had a few options that made a good amount of sense for Evan, but he really had no great reason to leave the Magic. The only reason Evan was negotiating another contract this offseason is because Blake Bowman and the Magic believed in his ability to break out enough that they gave him a Player Option for this offseason. Evan's goal was to get money that he has earned and now deserves, and this contract certainly does that.
A note on the contract - In real life, Evan got 85 million over 5 years. So, even though we have a decreasing number which is somewhat unusual, Evan still ends up with a significantly larger contract. I'd also like to make it clear that while we had even larger offers, Blake would have been willing to match anything to keep Evan. He was devoted and kept up with his responses really well. Again, Evan was only negotiating for more money, but felt it was his responsibility to see what was out there with other teams.
We would like to thank Charles Barkley, Julius Erving, Jeremiah Hill and Dan Majerle for their interest. In the end, the money and team situation were right for Evan in Orlando. Not for nothing, the Magic also have a good friend Rudy Gobert on the roster, and have even brought in Boris Diaw, something of a mentor and friend, to the team this offseason. It's the right place for Evan to continue his career.
Thank you everyone for your attention and offers.

The Orlando Magic are proud that we may continue to move forward with Mr. Fournier! Thank you to Mr. Frazier for his time and the effort he and the other PAs put into this process, and thank you to the other GMs who showed Evan much love! We have faith in his abilities on the court and are proud of the man he is off of the court; we know he will be one of the most important players in our future! Welcome home, Evan!

Wish I knew this was the contract, I would have at least given realistic raises lol.

Wish I knew this was the contract, I would have at least given realistic raises lol. It's called a team-friendly deal for a re-signing player. He makes more here than IRL but helps his team out. Seems realistic.
