G/F - Ben Simmons
Player Statistics:
Drafted: 2016 1st round (1st pick) by the Boston Celtics (2016 Draft)
2016/17 - The 2016 Draft possessed a consensus Top 2; LSU's Ben Simmons and Duke's Brandon Ingram. With Boston's first ever #1 Pick, after countless hours of scouting, Ben Simmons was selected to join the Celtics. As was the case with every franchise changing prospect during Boston's rebuild Simmons was injured days before playing his first professional game and missed his entire rookie season.
2017/18 - Upon starting his first professional game for the Sixers in-real-life Simmons was almost instantly elevated to the status of a star player, recording three triple-doubles before Christmas it took less than 2 months to receive a ratings boost to 83 for the D5 Celtics. Previously thought to be a forward the Celtics had spent the entire 2017 off season trying to acquire a star point guard only to find Simmons had been that player all along. After his ratings boost it took Simmons several games before he recorded his first D5 career triple double against the Pacers. Just as in-real-life Simmons and Embiid anchored their team in what is hoped to be the Celtics first playoff run since 2013.
Later in the season Simmons received his second ratings boost, bringing him up to an 85 overall, moments before recording an extra five triple-doubles over a ten game stretch for his real-life Sixers!
2018/19 - Simmons once again anchored the Celtics offense as starting point guard for the 2018/19 season. In real life Simmons continued to rack up the triple-double statlines, earning him a further ratings boost up to 87 as well as his first real-life All Star selection, he and Embiid took the real-life Sixers to within one game of the Eastern Conference Finals, being the only team to take the eventual championship Raptors team to a full seven game series.
At D5 Simmons's play continued to reach new heights: he led the league in assists and was Top 10 in steals and anchored the Celtics offense into the second round of the Playoffs, eventually succumbing to the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks.
