Golden State Warriors77 Boris Diaw - $5,500,000 - $6,000,000 - $6,500,000 Outgoing Salary: $5,500,000 Incoming Salary: $0 Orlando Magic#36 Overall Pick Orlando Magic 2017 2nd Outgoing Salary: $0 Incoming Salary: $5,500,000 Orlando has the cap space to take on the salary. On behalf of the Warriors organization I want to say thank you to Boris Diaw for 2 great seasons as a Warrior and helping us win a title! We appreciate all his hard work and wish him luck with his new team down in Orlando. For us moving Diaw will free up an additional $6M in cap space and gives us 2 draft picks which gives us more flexibility to shape our roster moving forward. I accept.

A deal like this obviously makes sense for the Warriors, they need to free up that little bit extra with Klay's cap hold meaning they can't offer Lebron the max, after this deal they can. Showing dedication in the process too, Diaw will be missed but Lebron is the King.
Not sure what the Magic are angling for here though - Blake?

We accept! We love Diaw, one of the best players in the league, I believe he can help our young players. Also, he is one of Evan Fournier's basketball heroes and while going after a re-signing we believe having Diaw along with Rudy Gobert, a clear slot at the shooting guard position, and all of the cap space in the world, this makes us the top contender for Mr. Fournier. That's a major reason we do this deal tbh, and with realism it makes sense to me that you'd want to play with your hero and a friend. We love France, and we love Evan.

Overall, not too bad. It's a couple 2nd rounders to get a veteran who started for a top-quality team in D5, and who is at least still relevant. The 3rd year (which is just 2 years away I think, right? - always confusing this time of year in D5) could be a bit of a bummer when we get there for Diaw's contract but, this is pretty low risk for Blake. One 2nd rounder in a weak-ish class and another 2nd rounder in a stronger class. He gets a legit player for his bench, does very possibly have an affect on re-signing a favorite player, and he already has a good number of assets on his team. Doesn't hurt him much to lose some 2nd rounders.
FTR, if there was a 1st involved I would probably reject as that really wouldn't make sense.
Anyway - accept! Nice job Blake & Chris.

We must have posted nearly at the same time, I completely missed this post. I think this will add to my chances of re-signing Evan. I love Evan. We're going to #MakeOrlandoFranceAgain, and the seconds are expendable to me. I still have my firsts, I wouldn't have moved one of those in this deal, so I don't see much risk at all here. It affects my cap situation I guess, but not too severely at all considering the amount I have and the situation I'm in.
