If this trade is off next years salaries...The salaries off the picks will be included and adjusted correct? Seems only fair. Make salaries work, etc...

This is the difference between real life and sim league. We cannot really measure the feelings, affection and emotion of the players.
I hope the PAs can think deeply about the possible effect of this on the image of the GM James Kay to all the players.

What the funk.
Value is equal (Wiggins isn't actually that good remember me being mad about his inflated rating).
But at what cost. I'm not signing with this guy who wins a championship and then trades probably the 2nd best player on it. Lol what a joke.

You guys see a bunch of upper classmen/older euros getting picked before all of the "freshman upside" in the real draft. Then this guy trades for a guy who isn't going to contribute ANYTHING to a repeat championship run.

Guess I gotta do some damage control before this gets out of hand.
I'm sorry to see Wiggins go. He was a big part of the past two seasons and integral to our championship run. We obviously wish him nothing but the best.
However, with this trade we saw an opportunity. The #2 pick in the upcoming draft will be either Simmons/Ingram, both of which the Hornets believe have star potential.
The key to this trade is cap space. With this trade I will have 53 million in cap space. This is enough to re-sign Westbrook to the max as well as a max offer to a player we've had our eye on for some time in free agency. So I will be sending out two max offers this off-season, and also have the #2 pick.
There may be some fallout from moving Wiggins, but ultimately it was decided that this was the best direction for the team. This past season the Hornet franchise's best performance, and our best chance ever to get a key player in free agency. We are going all in to pair Westbrook with this player and we think that Westbrook will be even more enthused to play with this free agent. I will still have the young talent of Middleton, Noel, KCP, and #2, and a semi-star in Ibaka.
At the end of the day, this is a sim league and I wanted to have a little fun with it, make a big move. I think my pitches to free agents will show my team always has the goal of winning in mind and I think winners will want to come here.

This trade is for real? Utah gets Andrew Wiggins and a future 1st round pick for Brandon Ingram? That's incredible. I don't think this trade would ever happen if the draft wasn't happening right now. Hype is at maximum levels.
That said, I kind of get it for Charlotte. They can go after another star player with the cap space they clear. They probably didn't have to deal Wiggins to dump that salary though. You're trading away one of your future stars and you just won a championship? It's not something I'd ever consider doing, especially when that guy is Wiggins. What if this is a move that leads to Westbrook leaving? Could be a disaster.
This is one hell of a trade.

Going to sleep now but I will say this - This is a volatile league. There are tons of scary teams. I've made Charlotte a winner and I plan to keep it that way. To do so I need to get any competitive edge on the competition, and in this case I believed that merely maintaining the status quo (re-signing Westbrook) would not be enough. Whoever I get will be slightly cheaper and younger than Wiggins. They will also be more willing to come off the bench as they learn their way in the NBA. This is important because in a way, given my plans for FA, this was the right thing to do by Wiggins. He's a future star(No doubt about it!), but my team is in win-now mode, and the player that I plan to pursue in FA may have pushed Wiggins to the bench. So, the plan here is ultimately Wiggins for Simmons/Ingram + a max Free Agent. I think our offer will be very competitive as we are coming off a Finals win and will be able to offer max money.

I assume Kawhi Leonard, or maybe Lebron, but this is a dangerous move to make in the hopes of getting Lebron. I'll accept this. Very risky, but it's obviously a fully thought out move, even if it goes wrong, you're willing to take the risk.

This is what I don't understand. Why do you care if Wiggins is coming off the bench. Tell him boo freaking hoo you're getting rings shut up.
You just gave up an 80 ovr who even though I don't think is a superstar or anything. Is decent on defense and only makes 5 mil a year. In a world where 80 ovrs are gonna be making 17-20 million a year.
Lol, all that said it should be a accepted. Value is equal even if I think its a weak decision.

It's just occurred to me but I think GMs are getting a bit creative with how other GM actions affect free agency chances. Saying Lebron will leave Golden State because he wouldn't want to be traded in real life?! That's a terrible approach to running a sim league...
Edit: that might be a bit extreme actually but it's cause for thought

I'm saying LBJ has no loyalty to that organization. Same reason LMA shouldn't have taken that player option over a max deal. But thats over now lets just move on.

Really, I wouldn't do this if I owned my 2018 pick, but not owning my 2018 pick would make that entire season a waste if I were to just try to continue the tank.
I feel like if I get a little bit of development from Mudiay or Winslow, and then with Whiteside & Wiggins, I'd have an interesting enough core to go after a free agent these next two offseasons, to try to screw Brian over for not giving my my pick back.
Going into the 2017 offseason I'd have a lineup of Mudiay-Wiggins-Winslow-Giles?-Whiteside
All I need is one of those guys to fail (giving me an open starting spot which the PAs seem to give too much of a shit about), and another one to step up and then go after an elite face-of-franchise free agent in 2017 and my team would be playoff bound with the arrow pointed firmly up.
After much deliberation, I accept.

I didn’t trade away a hometown hero, I didn’t screw over Wiggins. He’s going to a promising young team that will retain his BRs. This move wasn’t indicative of a crumbling franchise making a nonsense move. There were no promises broken to FAs. At the end of the day players will give much more weight to the fact that I brought the Hornets to a championship in only 3 years – after starting with Kemba Walker, Thomas Robinson, and 4 first round picks. Just like Ian said, it’s interesting how quick people are to try and point fingers at other teams to help their own chances in FA lol.

I am only pointing out that if this is in real life, this trade will affect your image as a GM and the PAs should try to simulate it. Plus, these are the factors FAs will consider, as per the rules of D5: 1. Money Offered (Player Agents will work to keep salaries realistic, but it doesn't hurt to show you're committed) 2. Playing time. 3. The chances of success with your team (playoff/championship calibre) 4. How much dedication you have shown to the player. 5. The perceived effort you put into making an offer. 6. A player's perceived real-life personality traits. 7. Whether your team is a "big market" team, or a team with "prestige" or history. 1 – I’ll be offering the max. 2 – A starting role 3-Coming off a championship 4-Just traded Wiggins to make cap space for this player. Maybe this will factor in under 6 or 7? But those are the lowest priorities in what the rules dictate that FAs will consider, and my offer will be the strongest out there for 1-5.
