This trade works salary wise. The Spurs accept this trade bringing in a legit vet guard/forward on a one year contract. We were in serious trade talks with several teams about Solomon Hill. We were looking to add a pick or a proven guard/forward who will play well in our system moving forward. I have always liked Geralds work ethic and game and we as an organization felt this was the right move for the upcoming season over a future 2nd rounder. We were honestly going to let both guys walk either way and we get a great player in Gerald instead of losing both for nothing. We now can focus on resigning Jackson and Millsap and to try and deepen our frontcourt prior to next season and through the upcoming draft with the 8th pick.
