Reasoning:
This trade does a few things for me. The most obvious is that I save about $20 mil in cap, opening me up to be a big mover in free agency with the potential to sign two max players to go with Blake Griffin. The other obvious thing this trade does for me is sure up my wing spot and open up my point guard spot. I've been trying to move Jrue to do this for a while, but they always fizzled out. The reasoning for this is that there are a plethora of PGs on the market this offseason, and not many wing players. I can now offer Westbrook, Jackson, Irving, Conley, etc. Any of those guys should love the opportunity to step into a team with Blake Griffin, Rodney Hood, and MKG.
The negative aspects are there too, mainly that I don't own my own pick. But with Blake coming back for me this week, I think we'll still make the playoffs, so it doesn't really matter too much.

Accept. Holiday was going to be the Nets fourth string point guard next year anyway. Plus I'm sure the 'come play with Blake Griffin' pitch is already half written. The Nets will have room for two max contracts.
