San Antonio Spurs trade:77 Chris Kaman - $6,876,550 - $7,632,971 73 Vince Carter - $3,600,000 69 Samuel Dalembert - $4,000,000 - $4,000,000 - $4,000,000CHI 2017 1st round pick Total: $14,476,550 Denver Nuggets trade:82 Nikola Pekovic - $10,186,318 - $11,306,814 76 Corey Brewer - $3,480,360 75 Randy Foye - $3,500,000 - $4,007,336 - $4,514,672 - $5,022,008 SAS 2017 2nd round pick Total: $17,166,678 Works under 125% rule.
I accept. Talent wise, I believe I'm losing this trade. I think Pekovic can, and will, come back and be a productive player again once he's healthy. He's still just 30 years old, he's got many years left. I'm ok with this though because Alex Len has been playing really well. He's putting up 11 and 8 when he starts for the Suns, and since they traded away Markieff, he's been putting up 17 and 11. I think he's ready to be a big part of their team going forward. What I want out this trade most is that 1st round pick. It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Bulls. I'd be shocked if Jimmy Butler left, but everyone else might. I'm expecting a pick in the 20s, but on the off chance things fall apart in Chicago, I've got their pick.

Dalembert and Carter have done nothing for us and wont. It was a matter of time until they left.
Peckovic is injury prone. As he is now. But im looking future. Him and Zeller and a FA i plan on bringing in can and will fill the frontcourt.
Yeah im trading Chi's #1, but im gaining my own #2 back..which wont be much different. Having it in my control is nice i guess.
Foye was just signed IRL to backup Westbrook. Hes a decent backup pg.
Brewer is average. He will fill any holes until i trade him.
Im still rebuilding...but i need to do so while keeping the team interesting to future FA's!!
We ACCEPT!!

Sssssiiiiiggghhhhhh...... I really don't know why SAS would trade away a 1st and not really get anything of use long-term. There is absolutely no way that the SAS 2017 2nd can be worth more than the CHI 2017 1st. And, there IS a chance that the Chicago 1st turns into a just-out-of-the-lotto pick meaning, significantly better than any 2nd can be.
I just don't see what the Spurs get here that's worth a 1st.
Absolute best case for the Spurs is the Bulls' pick is 30 and the Spurs' pick is 31. But even then, he still loses! And, he still takes on more money in the trade for players who aren't any better, or haven't shown they are in a while. So he loses even more.
Worst case, the Bulls' offseason is the stuff horror movies are made out of and it falls into the lotto, who knows how high if we're truly talking a worst case scenario for JR trading that pick away. And, he still has to take on money for mediocre players who really don't add much compared to what he's trading away.
I have to reject.

Spurs need the 1st. If it were another team who had enough assets left after this deal I would accept, but to be frank San Antonio needs babysitting to ensure they stop trading away their future for mediocre vets.
I reject.

Babysitting? Wtf ever. You guys will never be happy until i keep a draft pick and use it. I enjoy my team and how many years have I continued to actively get better. Even if we never win or get back to the playoffs, i still stay as the gm and deal with many bullshit rejections just because its me. Post the rejection and why as if it were another gm. If its fair for another gm, it should be good enough for me. It really pisses me off and makes being here at times usesless and boring as fuck. If you guys want a second team do it. Add it in with all the new rules and ideas you are coming up with. Otherwise stop opinionating my team as yours. Its not like your teams have gotten better than mine has. We are around the same situation. Draft picks are not every gms wish. I dont get off on it. I could see if i didnt do my job.

He's not rejecting it because you're the GM but because your team has so little value that if it became any worse no one would ever want to own that team.

Really? I don't see how this trade is rejectable. Every player I get is absolutely awful. They're all washed up and Dalembert isn't even in the NBA anymore. Brewer and Foye are solid back up players, especially Brewer, and Pekovic is injured, but when healthy he's a good player with career averages of 12 and 7 in 25 minutes per game.
How much value is that Bulls pick supposed to have? There is a 90% chance it will be a pick from 20-30. Plus JR isn't even giving up a pick, he's just moving down in the draft since he gets his own second back, a pick with like a 90% chance of being between 31-40. Se we're really rejecting a trade over JR moving down 10-15 spots in the 2017 draft? It makes no sense to me. I didn't really even want to include that 2nd rounder because only moving up in the draft isn't a huge benefit to me, but JR wouldn't do the trade otherwise.
Take away both picks and how would you evaluate this trade? It's pretty clear I'm losing the trade by a fair margin. How does moving up in the draft somehow overtake all that difference, and then some, to make it a trade worth rejecting?
I kind of feel like if this was a trade between the Blazers and the Pacers, or two other random teams, then it would be accepted without a second thought. But since it's between JR and myself, everyone gets super critical. Are we not only supposed to reject trades if they have the potential to seriously damage the future of a team? This trade just doesn't fit in that category to me.
JR has also clearly shown he's committed. He's been around for like four years now, he's not going anytime soon. I know there have been some really awful Spurs trades in the past, many that did deserve being rejected, but this isn't one of them. I've got to agree with JR on this one. Just let him run his team.

The trade is bad because Chicago has the potential to be really bad to average next season. Pekovic is getting lowered again and likely will never approach an 80 again.

Maybe, but it's really not a high chance. Chris Paul likely opts in, which should be enough to keep Jimmy Butler. So they have a 92 rated player and an 87 rated player locked up. Even if Noah, Lee and Afflalo all leave, it's not a huge issue, their stars are there, they just have to fill in the gaps. There is no way they wouldn't make the playoffs in the east.

The fact that JR is paying to get Pekovic is what makes the deal so retarded. Imagine you run the Nuggets. Would you make this trade? Nikola Pekovic Corey Brewer Randy Foye for Chris Kaman Vince Carter Samuel Dalembert I assume the answer is no? It should be. Pekovic is better than Kaman, Brewer is better than Carter, Foye is obviously better than a retired Dalembert. It would be a foolish trade to make. Including the picks makes up the difference. He's not paying, he's making the deal fair. But JR is not allowed to trade 1st round picks or something, I dunno. Basically there is no possible way to have an acceptable trade here.

Please move this already. Three rejects. We dont need any other decisions. You guys def need to take in what was said. Not just from me. Ill NEVER draft a first to the SA Spurs to make my point its my team though. If not before..during the dradt. Ill draft for another gm or team and trade it. I wont build through the draft. I wont. So get the conspiracy out of your brains.

Don't trade for guys who have no development left and are only showing us declining skills or lots of injuries. If you get someone with real promise and upside, I'm fine if you trade that pick.

Who says this wont be his last injury. Who says any guy on any team wont get hurt and never play to the same level. We all take risks. No draft will give me the player i need. I need a legit big now and for next season. I as a gm dont and wont look past that. It's pointless in a sim league. Its pointless when im not really making money or looking to get something from the league. Ive never drafted a first rounder that i remember that ive kept or used. I build through FA and trading with the cap we have and picks i use as value to get deals done. The cap will be gping up. More to do what i need to do as how i build. With this trade i get a above average nba big man. I get two better guards then what i had in Carter and players to maybe make more moves. I trade Dalembert whos not in the league and is expiring. So he doesn't matter at all. And Kaman is now a backup that gets very few mins. Peckovic is not declining but has been injured. His team has been rebuilding and his usage is down. With injuries his position has been replaced and now he needs to ask to be traded or bought out so that he can play for a playoff team and get minutes he deserves. When healthy of course. He is better than anyone at bis position that i will draft with any pick. Even top 10. He alone is beyter than the pick. And i win the rest of the trade as well. Even getting back my teams 2nd rounder that could have value if i choose. It makes the value of Peckovic for that 1st even better. Its not about getting denied. Its the fact that any other team could do it and get accepted. If i was making this trade for a backup or vet that doesnt deserve to still start for a nba team, i could see any team getting this rejected. But look at this guys stats when not injured. Hes a beast. There are many trades i regret and some that i wish would have been accepted. I wouldnt make a trade that kills this team. I wouldnt make a trade that destroys the team and then leave. Im here and at times ive been the most active and the most annoying. You guys cant get rid of me. But let vet gms build their roster. We are here because we can. We wouldnt be here just to fuck anything up and waste all the time we have put in. This trade should not have been rejected. Im probably not going to be able to get him without the pick. No matter all my errors you guys need to be fair and treat me as equal. Please. I deserve it. My team feserves it.
